Glamping at its best! In a magical setting on the river sits this cozy, 16 ft, heated yurt with an incredible fire pit & canopied picnic table. Fall asleep & wake to the beautiful sound of the river, mountain views, eagles & other wildlife. A walk up the path brings you to The Orchard with your own outdoor shower & kitchen & the River View Room. Want to add more guests? Bring your camping gear and pitch a tent in the clearing next to the yurt! (Please send an inquiry for groups larger than 4.) The space The River Glamping is well equipped for a quick weekend getaway, a week long respite, or even longer! The beautiful 'wild landscaping' surrounding this private enclosure has been carefully designed to create an immersive experience with nature, without 'roughing it'. During your visit you'll be treated to complimentary organic wine, s'mores, and often fresh chicken and/or duck eggs (when available). The yurt itself features a queen bed with fleece sheets and a heated mattress pad. There is electricity, Wifi, and a propane heater. Additional amenities in the yurt include fireside blankets, old towels for rainy days and fur kids, electric water kettle, French press, coffee, tea, sugar, potable water & hand washing station. Basic necessities are also provided such as tp, paper towels, trash bags, etc... A few steps from the yurt in the seclusion of trees is an outhouse with composting toilet. The toilet is easy to use and no smell! (If you're feeling squirmy about this we encourage you to read our reviews ;) A short walk across the footbridge and up the path will bring you to The Orchard with your personal outdoor shower and kitchen, on demand hot water, a porta potty tent with composting toilet, and The Orchard River View Room. The Orchard River View Room is a fully enclosed/insulated porch with double sliding doors featuring a queen bed and a cozy sitting room separated from the bedroom by a pocket door. All of the spaces described above are included in your booking and are for your personal, exclusive use, with the exception of the footbridge where you may very occasionally encounter other guests on their way to a separate beach on the river. We welcome you to enjoy additional shared areas of the property including the zen garden paths, meditation circle, aviary, and abundant critters. Net proceeds from the Oasis are donated to the wildlife rescue charity, Critter Care, a rescue, rehab and release center. We look forward to welcoming you to the Oasis! Guest access Please drive all the way up the driveway and park in front of the double garage near the main house. The driveway is a one way roundabout. When leaving, please drive around the back of the additional buildings to return to the property entrance gate. Other things to note ****We are well behaved fur kid friendly. The second bedroom in this listing ( River View Room) is by the outdoor kitchen and shower. The yurt is down at the river. It has the same water and mountain view (see photos, description, and check in instructions for details). If your entire group would prefer to sleep down at the river, we have extra tent's for rent that you can set up, including a huge 16ft one ... (We've cleared the rocks from an area next to the yurt for just this purpose!) PLEASE NOTE ~ Unless you are booking both listings on the property, please do not wander to the back of the main house (on the ground floor). We strive to give all our guests their privacy and space. We provide a few flashlights for navigating the property after dark, however, we also recommend you bring one or two of your own, especially if you are checking in late. Please remember that while it is "Glamping" it's still a natural environment with uneven terrain, walking aids such as walkers etc are not suitable. Appropriate footwear is important (especially for children). Flip flops are not recommended. In the outdoor kitchen you'll find all the basic necessities for cooking and dining as well as coffee, tea, sugar, creamer, olive oil, salt & pepper. Often we have (complimentary) fresh duck and/or chicken eggs from our free range hens. Please send us a message before you buy/pack your supplies to check availability. (Even the hens take a day or two off once in a while ;) If you have any questions at all about what you may or may not need to pack please don't hesitate to get in touch. There are limited options for groceries in the very near vicinity so we recommend stocking up in Bellingham or before leaving home. Part of the Zen experience we strive to offer is to provide you with exactly what you need, and nothing you don't. (And therefore we try to keep the clutter to an absolute minimum.) Rest assured that we can lay our hands on virtually any household object you might want or need at a moment's notice and quite enjoy doing so. We would be pleased to give you a tour of the grounds and amenities upon your arrival and look forward to welcoming you and sharing the magic of The Oasis!
