The Cottage on the Hill

Nestled against a hillside, at the end of a small city lane, sits a charming private retreat. Park in one of your reserved spaces and step down to a unique retreat high above the city to enjoy a vintage cottage with modern amenities. Walk to Historic Cumberland, enjoy local and regional attractions, or stay in and grill, build a fire, or play pool, poker, board or yard games. Well appointed, fully equipped, and with a beautiful view, come relax and enjoy this one of a kind location. The space The cottage is located near a wooded area. You may see deer, squirrels, and other wildlife in the woods behind the house, or in the backyard. This is an entire house with a private entrance. Guests have use of the entire house, which in addition to the living/kitchen/bed/bath areas, includes a vintage basement "game room" with a pool table, a poker/board game table and outdoor areas which include; hillside yards, garden and green spaces, a large porch and a private patio with a firepit and park style, charcoal grill (wood and charcoal provided.) The cottage is perfect for a family gathering or a private retreat. Guest access Please be aware that due to this home's unique hillside location, it is not handicap accessible because of the stairs needed to access it. Stairs are well lit for nighttime use. Parking (for 3-5 cars) is located on the property in two areas. Additional parking (or for large vehicles) can be arranged. Other things to note While hosts live across the street, they are located further up on the hillside and will not enter the property while you are present unless you request assistance. While our check in time is 5PM, we welcome all early check in or late check out requests and will gladly honor them if we are able. If we are initially unable to honor your request, we are also willing to notify you the day of your check in (or check out) if things change.
