Kookaburra Cottage

Kookaburra Cottage is the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the tranquil country outlook while being only minutes to Queanbeyan and Canberra. Fully self contained and separate from the main house, the cottage has everything you need for a getaway - a spacious bedroom with a king sized bed, a kitchen with the basics, a comfortable living area with a smart TV, wifi and air conditioning in both rooms to keep you warm or cool depending on the season. The space The main living area opens out to a full wraparound verandah where you can relax in the shade in the hammock while overlooking native bushland and keeping an eye out for kangaroos and bird life. Inside you can kick back on the couch and watch your next favourite show on Netflix or through the Chromecast. Or curl up with a book in the reading nook in the bedroom. Upload your holiday snaps with unlimited free wifi or relax with a cold drink on the verandah. When it's time for dinner you can enjoy dining al fresco or at the dining table. The kitchen has all you need to prepare a light meal with a microwave, a plug in induction hot plate (with pots and a frying pan), a compact bench top oven, a toaster, a sandwich press and fridge. The kitchen is stocked with a few essentials to make your stay more comfortable - full cream milk, bottled water, vanilla yoghurt, blueberry coconut muesli, assorted black and herbal teas, Nespresso coffee and decaf coffee pods, plus a bag of Byron Bay cookies to snack on! When it's time to hit the hay you'll find a king sized Ecosa memory foam mattress waiting for you complete with a high loft mattress topper for added comfort. Luxurious Sheridan linen is throughout the bedroom and bathroom. With split systems in the bedroom and living area the air conditioning will keep you cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Queanbeyan is an easy, scenic 10 minute drive on fully sealed roads and has all the essentials you may need. Go a little further into Canberra and explore all the national treasures like Parliament House, the War Memorial and the National Gallery. If you like the outdoors why not take a walk around Lake Burley Griffin, the National Arboretum or the Botanic Gardens. Closer to the cottage is the Cuumbeun Nature Reserve with a multitude of trails to explore and see gems like white box gums and other local flora and fauna. Guest access The roads to the cottage are fully sealed, there are two parking spots directly out the front of the cottage and check in is via a keypad on the door.
