Your own one-bedroom unit on oak-lined Herte Street, just off central Dorp Street, with back-up electricity when the national grid is off. Have a glass of wine on the private, all-weather balcony facing the street. Secure on-site parking, air conditioning, extra-length king size bed, washing machine, tumble dryer, fast Wi-Fi, Netflix and DSTV. The space The living room is air-conditioned, with a smart TV logged on to Netflix and the full bouquet of DSTV satellite channels. Unlimited free fiber Wi-Fi is available to guests. Squirrel & Vine's air-conditioned bedroom features an extra-length king size bed, light-blocking curtains, radio/alarm, hairdryer and safe. Baby cot available on request. Linen, towels and guest amenities provided. The open-plan kitchen is fully equipped with oven, stove, microwave oven, fridge with freezer compartment, kettle, toaster, coffee percolator, Nespresso machine, crockery, cutlery and kitchen utensils. The unit has a washing machine and tumble dryer. The private, covered balcony overlooking Herte Street has a table and chairs for outdoor dining. The bathroom has a bath, shower and twin basins. Secure, off-street, covered parking for one vehicle is available inside the security complex. Parking is scare in central Stellenbosch - your spot inside the security gates is kept open by a parking saver. Accessibility: 16 stairs to climb to get to the front door (the apartment is one floor above ground level). There are no stairs inside the apartment. Loadshedding: From time to time, the national electricity grid may be under pressure and the electricity to each area is cut off according to a schedule. The apartment has a back-up battery system that automatically supplies electricity during municipal outages. All of the lights and most of the plugs work during loadshedding (excluding the heaviest appliances: oven, stove, washing machine, tumble dryer and air conditioners). Approximate distances: 100 meters to Dorp Street, 450 meters to Church Street, 750 meters to Stellenbosch Town Hall, 1.1 kilometers to the University of Stellenbosch (measured to Administration Block A), 1.8 kilometers to Coetzenburg sports grounds (measured to the graduation venue at the DF Malan Centre), 1.5 kilometers to Mediclinic Winelands Orthopedic Hospital, 2.5 kilometers to Stellenbosch Mediclinic, 18 kilometers to Somerset West (measured to Somerset Mall), 34 kilometers to Cape Town International Airport. Guest access You are renting an entire apartment in an apartment complex Other things to note Check-in and check-out times are unfortunately not flexible. The building does not have a storage room for luggage. Check-in from 14h00 (after hours arrival is no problem!) and check-out by 10h00. Self-check-in procedure: keys collected and dropped off at lock box approximately 5 minutes' drive from the apartment (unfortunately we are not permitted lock boxes on site, as the key set gives access to communal gates). Please park on reserved parking bay number 4 only. The apartment has one bedroom - a child can be accommodated on a single bed size mattress in the living area.
