Bed & Breakfast in our 1840s brick-built railway cottage in Helensburgh on the River Clyde close to Loch Lomond. We are nestled behind tall buildings so we do not have a scenic view. We offer off-road parking and secure bicycle storage. Helensburgh marks the start of the John Muir Way and the Three Lochs Way distance walks. The West Highland Way and several other walks are nearby.. For climbers, Ben Lomond, the Conic Hill and Ben Arthur (The Cobbler) are a short drive away. The space Bedroom, en-suite and private sitting room. We offer a comfortable en-suite bedroom with a good quality double bed with sateen cotton sheets, a wardrobe with hanging space, shelves and drawers, a desk with two chairs and a large, wall-mounted TV. There are several plug points including one with two mains USB charging points beside the bed. There is a generous en-suite wet room with walk-in shower, WC, basin and heated towel rail. Hand soap, shampoo and conditioner are supplied. An ironing board & iron are provided. You will have exclusive use of a private sitting room with TV, open fire two comfy leather sofas and an electric reclining chair. We will set a table and lay out breakfast foods for you including fruit juice, cereals, muesli, yogurt, bread (from the local baker), spreads and fruit. We will brew a pot of tea or real coffee for you. Guest access The bedroom with en-suite and private sitting room are exclusively for your use. Your private sitting room is across the hall from your bedroom. Our guests are welcome to have breakfast in our dining room and take advantage of our walled garden, decking and front patio. The upstairs of the house is our private space. During your stay This is our only home and so we will be around most of the time. We are happy to interact as much or as little as guests choose. We are always delighted to help you to find your way about the area. Other things to note The town is known for its beautiful tree-lined streets, particularly the flowering cherry that blossoms in springtime. Helensburgh is the birthplace of John Logie Baird, the inventor of television. Charles Rennie Mackintosh's Hill House is of architectural and interior design interest.
