Dolphin Cottage - Cosy cottage in old Whitby
Dolphin Cottage - Cosy cottage in old Whitby
Description
A cosy 18th century cottage tucked away in the heart of Whitby’s old town, Dolphin Cottage is the perfect peaceful getaway with restaurants, shops, cafés & pubs just moments away. Ideal for couples or families, sleeping four in one double bed and bunk beds - dogs are welcome too. Both bedrooms are on the 2nd floor and the stairs are quite steep so may be unsuitable for guests with mobility problems. The space Located on the ground floor, is a well equipped kitchen that contains everything you will need to self-cater your stay at Dolphin Cottage and dine in comfort. There is a full size oven and hob and a washer dryer is provided for your convenience. A high chair is also available. The living room is located on the first floor. The brick feature wall, log effect electric fire and wooden flooring give this room a warm and cosy atmosphere throughout the year. Two leather sofas and an armchair allow plenty of space to spread out and relax in comfort. With a bluetooth iPod dock/radio, free WiFi, Skystream and a mobile phone charging station, board games and books, there is plenty to keep you entertained. The bedrooms are on the second floor of the property and both enjoy rooftop views across old Whitby. Please note that the stairs up to this floor are fairly steep and narrow in parts. The cosy double room offers a double bed, built-in wardrobes, wooden floors and a traditional black beam ceiling. In the second bedroom are bunk beds with individual cool-touch reading lights, making it a perfect resting place for kids. The main bathroom in the property is on the ground floor, located off the kitchen and has a bath with shower over, toilet and basin. For your convenience, there is also a toilet and wash basin on the same floor as the bedrooms. A travel cot can also be provided for your stay (own bedding required) and this can be set up in the second bedroom or on the landing. Other things to note Dolphin Cottage is located in the heart of Whitby old town and due to its location, it does mean that parking nearby is very limited. We suggest you drop your luggage (and someone to watch it!) at the main road and park in a nearby car park. There are car parks on Langbourne Road which is a 10-15 minute flat walk but may take longer as the route goes around the harbour and passes a few of Whitby’s local pubs! This Visit Whitby website has useful details of the car parks and charges. It also details where you can make use of the scratch card parking system (scratch cards are provided for you to use during your stay). Please note that there is no garden or patio area at the cottage.
