Private Carriage House Historic District Ashland
Charming, renovated carriage house privately located behind my Victorian home in the heart of Ashland's Historic District. Just two blocks from the center of town and the railroad station. Ashland has many restaurants, breweries, shops , a theater and activities at Randolph Macon College. Historic Richmond is less than 30 minutes away, the mountains and beach and Washington DC less than 2 hours away by car. The area is very bike friendly and wonderful for walkers. There is a fenced in yard surrounding the cottage, and well-behaved dogs are invited to accompany you for an additional $50 per reservation. They must be crated when the guests are not present. I have been a resident of Ashland for 45 years and will be delighted to get you acquainted with the town and surroundings. The downstairs bedroom does not have central heat or air conditioning. There are space heaters there which keep it toasty in the winter. There is a room sized air conditioner there and several fans. The space is well-shaded and stays cool at night in the summer. There are three stairs up and down to get to the back bedroom and a staircase to the upstairs bedroom. These might be difficult to navigate if guests have mobility issues. I am always available either in person or via phone or text. I love helping people navigate the town and environs. Historic district . Next to elementary school. During the school year you may hear children playing during recess. Within 2 blocks of main drag, 4 blocks to Amtrak station. Parking is in front of the cottage and there is plenty of room for several vehicles. There is garbage disposal and recycling in the town every Monday. Please put your trash and recyclables in the cans behind the main house when you leave.
