Harakeke Cottage
Description
We'd love to host you in our cute, fully self-contained guest cottage in rural Tokomaru. This little (but spacious) house has everything you need including full cooking facilities (stove, oven/ microwave, dishwasher, fridge, utensils), all linen, washer/dryer, Sonos sound system to play your own music and free wifi. Less than 20 minutes to Palmerston North and 10 minutes to Massey University & Linton Army camp. The space Our light and airy cottage is tucked amongst flaxes (harakeke) offering a private place to base yourself for a visit to the Manawatu. The queen size bed, is super comfy, and the cottage has all the things you would need for an extended stay. Underfloor heating and air conditioning will keep you warm in winter. The many windows and doors on both sides of the cottage allow for fresh cooling breezes to flow through in summer (and the air conditioner will help then too). The living area is sunny and contains a sofa bed should you have extra guests ( which allows for 4 guests total). This is a very safe area although we do have security cameras on the driveway for your peace-of-mind. Guest access Guest will have their own key and access to come and go as they need. We also live on the property, but will not always be there. Guests are welcome to stroll in the gardens at the front of the main house. Other things to note We are next to the main trunk rail line so there will be some noise when the infrequent (on average 10 per day) trains go by. This includes a commuter train that goes past on its way to Wellington each weekday morning at 6.30 AM, the odd heavy freight train (which can be quite noisy for the minute or so it takes to go by) and sometimes even a steam train. The cottage is double glazed so the noise is reduced when the windows are closed, but it will be more noticeable in summer when windows and doors are open. We have two friendly cats who may come for a visit, but will generally leave you alone. The cottage is close to flaxes (Harakeke) which does mean that insects find there way inside the cottage from time to time (again more easily in summer when guests tend to keep windows and doors open). We do a thorough clean between guests, but you may have to use the fly spray (in the laundry cupboard) to remove the odd unwanted insect.
