Raahat @ Sukoon Homestay : 02 Bedroom Cottage

Hushstay x Raahat is a unique stone-clad cottage perched at 5500 ft in a small village called Jalna about 30 kms from Almora. The place is surrounded by virgin pine, oak and rhododendron trees and overlooks the majestic Himalayan peaks such as Trishul and Nanda Devi.    From the cosy rooms with their own indoor fireplace to the outdoor dining area with views to admire, every nook and corner of Hushstay x Raahat spells peace and tranquillity. The space Winding roads lead you to a beautiful little hamlet called Jalna: A little village, about 30 km from the popular hill town of Almora.   Raahat, as the name suggests, is an escape from the mundane: A place where you can let go of all your worries and just be. Here you are welcomed by lush greenery, the melodious chirping of a variety of birds and the sight of snow-covered peaks in the distance. As the sun goes down, the skies turn to shades of red, orange and violet and are later covered with a million stars.  ​ The Rooms: Hushstay x Raahat consists of 02 beautifully decorated and spacious rooms with large windows overlooking serene surroundings.    Inside the rooms, you will find elements of the local kumaoni culture: The thick walls have been finished with a mix of mud and locally found stone, the lamps, as well as other decors, have been made by the locals of the surrounding villages and the roof has a wooden cladding to give the rooms a warm feeling. ​ Comfortable beddings coupled with an indoor fireplace provide the warmth and comfort needed on a cold winter evening and the large windows allow for an inflow of fresh mountain air on a summer day. On a clear weather day, you are able to spot snow-covered Himalayan peaks from the comfort of your bed.   Step outside the room and you will find the same old-world charm reflected in the private sit-out space which is just perfect for that evening tea or a lazy afternoon.   When you book with us, you will have the entire place to yourself. Feast on delectable Kumaoni Cuisine prepared by our in-house cook, take a walk to the nearby village, hike up to the hilltop to watch the sunset or just laze around and let our staff cater to all your needs with the utmost attention. Guest access - Hushstay x Raahat is a part of Hushstay x Sukoon Homestay. Both cottages are located on the same premises. We recommend Raahat for groups of 04 - 06 guests while the standalone kumaoni cottage at Sukoon is recommended for groups of 02-04 guests. You may book both if you are a bigger group. - Raahat is offered exclusively to only one group at a time, the price varies depending on the number of guests. Please select the exact number of guests while booking. Other things to note - Only Breakfast is included when you book a stay.  - Lunch, Dinner and Evening Snacks are can be purchased and paid for at the property itself. Meals at Hushstay x Raahat consist of local Kumaoni Cuisine made up of fresh vegetables and fruits grown on the extensive farm and orchards. - Raahat is located about 30 kms from Almora Town within the premises of Hushstay x Sukoon. Nearest Railway Station – Kathgodam at a distance of 85 Km. Nearest Airport – Pantnagar is at a distance of around 118 Km. We can organize a cab for a pick-up and drop from Kathgodam railway station or Pantnagar airport at an additional cost. - If you are driving – it is important that you have experience in hill driving as the last 01 Km to the house is a dirt road. -  Parking is available at the premise - Check-in time: 01:00 PM - Check-out time: 10:00 AM - Slow and soft music is okay, but please do not play loud music. You are in the middle of nature. - Services of the staff are available until 10:00 PM. Dinner will be served before 10:00 PM. - We are pet-friendly. If you are coming with your pet, make sure they are well-mannered and that nothing is damaged.​ - Bonfire and bar-be-que are available at the homestay on a chargeable basis. Please inform the caretaker well in advance as the wood and the raw materials have to be sourced accordingly. Bonfire - INR 700 - Hushstay x Raahat is a part of Hushstay x Sukoon. Both cottages are located on the same premises. We recommend Raahat for groups of 04 - 06 guests while the standalone kumaoni cottage at Sukoon is recommended for groups of 02-04 guests. Rooms are offered on double occupancy up until 04 guests and other rooms are locked.  We will offer extra beds in the rooms if you are a group of more than 04 guests. - Please note that like any other home in the mountains, we do not have an air conditioner at the property. The thick stone walls keep the place warm in winters and cool in summers.
