This unique house was an original Sri Lankan plantation managers home that has now been renovated true to local design and architecture. Our fully air conditioned bedrooms spill out onto private courtyards with the garden and pool beyond. The open plan living areas welcome and invite companionship, conversation and laughter. It is a solid beach house that naturally flows from one living space to the other and has that unique style of combining both privacy and inviting open spaces for all round entertainment. The Moonwater Villa has 7 guest bedrooms with en-suites for your enjoyment. The hosts (Naturopath & Masseur, and yoga instructors) and the staff (cooks and housekeepers) are onsite and will share the common areas at times. Guest access Moonwater house is spread out on one, spacious level with your hosts in a separate en-suite double bedroom on an elevated level. The Moonwater Pool sits just outside the morning room adjacent to the kitchen and outside dining area and is perfect for relaxing in underneath the shady, tropical trees. Installed in 2014, the pool is a welcome addition to the facilities at Moonwater. Our trusted groundsman and property manager ensure that the pool is maintained and cleaned on a weekly basis. When you feel the need to cool off, chill out and relax, the Moonwater pool provides a refreshing alternative to the heat. The newly refurbished patio, and outside dining tables which seat 10 are next to the pool and therefore offer a wonderful opportunity to sit outside in the evenings, surrounded by the cacophony of crickets and delicately lit with scented oil lamps and fireflies. There is also an outside freshwater shower for post dipping. The recently added Yoga Shala is freely available for your own or group use. Feel free to join your hosts’ early-morning session before breakfast. They are both certified yoga instructors. During your stay At Moonwater, you will be genuinely looked after by our trusted housekeepers, Dilusha, Kumara, Nyama and Sirimati, who take so much pride in their work. Unawatuna is situated on the Western side of Sri Lanka, down towards the Southern tip. Its unique location protects it from exposure to the monsoons that hit the Western and Eastern coasts and offers surf for most of the year. Unawatuna is a magical beachside village full of cafes, restaurants and shops. You can sit at tables as the water laps at your feet or lie for hours on the sun loungers. Hire boats and kayaks for extra fun or take a special trip out to watch the whales and dolphins. The house is just 10 mins from the eclectic, characterful town of Galle which offers a myriad of colourful, Aladdin's Cave-like shops bursting with beautiful gemstone jewellery, health food cafe's and gift shops. Unawatuna train station is just a couple of minutes from Moonwater and the airport is just under 2 hours away.
