Though MBP is a hostel, it is more like a traditional Japanese guesthouse or Ryokan with futons on tatami floors. Less than five minutes walk from JR Matsumoto station. A comfy futon in our four-guest dormitory. Mixed or female-only - just ask! The space We found this large Japanese-style family home and made it into the friendliest place to stay in Matsumoto! All of our guest rooms have “tatami” straw mats flooring. They smell great and are warmer than other types of flooring. Futon “beds” are thick mattresses placed directly on the floor. MBP serves as the ideal base for the local area, whether visiting Matsumoto Castle, hiking in the North Alps or just kicking back from a hectic Tokyo schedule. We cater for anyone who wishes for a comfortable bed and the chance to share stories with other travellers. Guest access Having a shared kitchen, common room and dormitory-style rooms mean that you can interact with fellow guests. Our guests are looking for something different from lonely/ overpriced hotels. We offer left luggage facilities, a keycode entrance, complimentary drinks and can even wash and dry your clothes for you! Other things to note We are a small and friendly hostel with shared rooms.
