Our spacious double room with a desk and en-suite bathroom, overlooks a beautiful garden and views of countryside. A kitchen next to your room is fully equipped with hob, microwave/grill, fridge as well as all the crockery, cookware, glassware you need. A home-from-home. Our lovely house is in a prestigious and quiet neighbourhood but only 10 minutes by bus from Oxford city centre, or a pleasant walk of about 35 minutes. We have off street parking. See our single room listed separately. The space This is the listing for our spacious room with a double bed, an ensuite bathroom, private kitchen, and view of the garden. The ensuite bathroom is recently fitted and has a high quality shower, toilet and handbasin. Guests now have the convenience of a private kitchen right next to the double bedroom. The bright, sunny kitchen has table and chairs, an electric hob, microwave/grill/oven, toaster and fridge. If you are travelling with a child or a friend you can book our single room separately and we can offer a discount on this room for family or friends. Our house is in leafy Summertown, a prestigious suburb of Oxford just 2 miles from the city centre. The bus stop is 3 minutes walk away and the journey into the city centre takes 10 minutes, or to Blenheim Palace, 20 minutes. You can also easily visit Bicester Village from here by bus or train. We also have a free car parking space where you can safely leave your car all day. We are a short cycle, bus or taxi ride from Oxford Parkway railway station, with regular, fast and direct trains to London. A pub serving good food is 10 minutes walk away and a 15 minute walk brings you to the many restaurants and shops in Summertown . The famous 'Trout' pub of Inspector Morse fame is a short drive away. We have a lovely big garden and if you like walking or running, you can take a number of attractive routes from the house. We have lived in Oxford for many years. Helena is a historian and former tour guide and so we can give you the 'Inside Oxford' view. We are both in the country and the city. We have extensive views of the countryside from the back of our house but we are also in the city - inside the ring road and only 2 miles from the city centre and only 15 minutes walk from shops and restaurants. Perfect! Guest access We have free off street parking where you can safely leave your car day and night. The city centre is only 10 -15 minutes by bus and you can walk to Summertown, our local shopping centre in 12-15 minutes. Summertown has four supermarkets, as well as coffee shops, a green grocer, restaurants, a pub and cafes. During your stay We interact regularly with our guests. One or both of us is normally around at breakfast time and we are available to advise on the best places to see in Oxford, transport arrangements, trips out of Oxford and so on.
