Platform One is a refurbished train carriage built in the 1930’s. It travelled on the Wollongong line in New South Wales. It sits in a delightful, quiet rural setting only 5 minutes drive to Metung village and the popular Metung hotel. Other areas of interest include the magnificent Gippsland Lakes. We have tried to retain as much originality of this beautiful carriage as possible. There is an extensive decked area for visitors to sit and soak up the ambiance of this unique accommodation. The space As well as the Gippsland Lakes, there are many other areas of interest to visit. Nyerimilang Heritage Park has a delightful 19th century homestead with some great walking trails. There are numerous pushbike and mountain bike trails to explore and if keen, you can be at the snowfields of Dinner Plain in around an hour and a half. Of course there is an abundance of fishing spots in the area - some only a couple of minutes walk from the train. Guest access You can wander around the property and feed the cattle, walk around the rose garden or listen to and mingle with the bird life. Other things to note The carriage is as close to original as possible.
