Enjoy a charming get-away in the heart of the Wallingford neighborhood of Seattle just north of Lake Union. Our self-contained daylight suite is centrally located and within walking distance of parks, restaurants, shopping, UW, Greenlake, Fremont, the Zoo and buses to downtown. The space Our Guest Suite: Our 1906 Dutch Colonial home in the charming Wallingford neighborhood offers a 450 sq. ft. private-entrance ground-level suite. We live in the top two floors. The one-bedroom unit’s living room is furnished with a full-size futon couch, a leather love seat and 46-inch flat screen "Smart" TV (with built in Netflix). The bedroom has a very comfortable queen-size bed, a chest to unpack your belongings, and space to hang your clothes. The kitchenette includes dishes and silverware for four, a small refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven, hot plate, and some cookware essentials. It does not have a full-size oven; we have an induction "hot plate" and small oven/air fryer. We provide tea, coffee and coffee maker, as well as a few "goodies" to get you started! A decent food market, "QFC" is only a ten-minute walk away. The tiny, but charming tiled bathroom includes toilet, sink and shower. The private apartment opens out to our landscaped backyard, complete with a newly re-built four-tiered deck, outdoor lighting, seating and dining, a BBQ and a salt water hot tub - all available to our guests! A Walk-able Neighborhood: Wallingford is a popular and very walk-able neighborhood in Seattle, complete with a great variety of restaurants (40 at last count!), shops, pubs, parks (including an off-leash area five minutes' drive away), movie theaters and cafes. Wallingford residents take great pride in their community, which comes through its monthly ArtWalks, spring and summertime weekly farmer’s market, emerging mural art, variety of housing types and styles, tree-lined streets and neighborhood schools. Located in the Heart of Seattle: We are well-served with public transportation to downtown, the University of Washington, Woodland Park Zoo, Green Lake and more. Sound Transit's Light Rail can now transport you from SeaTac to the University of Washington. Bus 44 will deliver you to within blocks of our home from that station! If you are driving, Interstate-5 and Aurora Avenue (Highway 99) are nearby and provide convenient north/south access. Our Most Satisfied Guests: Our suite would be ideally suited for the business traveler seeking a tranquil, centrally located mini-apartment, or a couple/small family looking for a relaxing vacation. Well-trained mellow dogs are welcome! We have been living in this home for 29 years and can offer great suggestions for how best to maximize your time while in Seattle and in the Puget Sound region. We own a five year-old small, hypoallergenic, totally adorable dog ("Eskipoo" - American Eskimo/Poodle mix). "Miki" enjoys children, gentle adults, and a good head rub behind the ears. We look forward to welcoming you to our home. Guest access Quests will have access to our hot tub and backyard, picnic table, BBQ and full use of our 450 sq ft. private access apartment. For guests staying a week or longer, we also offer our laundry machines upstairs. Other things to note Dogs are allowed - $40/pet fee for your entire stay.
