The space The Game Keepers Cottage is attached to the stunning Upper House which was the shooting lodge of James Watts, the Manchester industrialist and his family. They entertained royalty in the shape of Prince Albert and a family member was Agatha Christie who wrote some of her books here, taking inspiration from the likes of Marple and Edale for her characters' names. The cottage has two double bedrooms, lovely modern bathroom, a fully equipped dining kitchen and a cosy lounge with a wood burner for those winter evenings. There is parking close to the property and access for walking and cycling all over Kinder Scout. This is a truly wonderful location. Guest access Game Keeper's Cottage, Grounds and Courtyard. Please note that the listing is self catering and we would advise stopping at a bigger super market on route prior to arrival for the duration of your stay.
