HANATSU: Stylish, Comfortable Gateway to Naoshima

Hanatsu means 'let go'. We designed this place so you can relax and let go in the busy-ness of travel through the ideal of "shibui" (subdued and simple). Here we are proud to offer the feeling of Japan in a comfortable private whole house; the beauty of tatami, earthen walls, sliding doors, tile and washi (Japanese paper). The Uno port ferry is 3 min by nearby train (14 by EA bike) so we serve as an ideal gateway to the Inland Sea islands, including of course Naoshima, Teshima and Inujima. The space NEW! In April 2023 we have a SECOND sealy bed to sleep in. This is a very high quality, queen-sized (double-wide) posturepedic with pillow top! I'd like to make it easier for families, so for young people 2-12 I'd like to offer 2800 yen per child instead of 3800yen for regular guests, which I can send as a "special offer" when you send me a message. Also written is that check in time is 3-6 pm, but we can discuss other times, 3-6 is just a basic idea. Bizen Tai station (the nearest station to Hanatsu, around 8 minutes walk) is very small and no taxis wait there unless you book them. If you need us to book a taxi for you please let us know, and give us your approximate arrival time (if you can), and then your exact arrival time when it gets closer to your arrival. [NOTE: Please see "The Neighborhood" ==> "Getting Around" below for other options, or contact me close to when you come] We also have FIVE ELECTRIC- ASSIST bikes that you can rent for 850 yen each per person/ per day which makes it super-easy to bike straight ONTO the ferry (around 12 min) and then use on the islands themselves (you save money)! You can also store bags with us if you need to pick them up after you check out, but before you are finished with Naoshima, etc. Oh and just in case beds are as important to you as to me, the main bed is a Sealy with high thread count cotton sheets so you should enjoy that! Guest access You can access all parts of the house, it's yours for the stay! Other things to note At the moment we don't offer breakfast but often can run you to the local supermarket or point you towards the convenience store. Of course coffee and tea are complimentary. The convenience store is a 3 minute walk from our BnB and there are supermarkets close by as well as a farmers market around 10 minutes by electric-assisted bike.
