Little Bijoux in the Swiss Alps

Little experience with Swiss mountains? Be absolutely sure to read "Further information". A cosy little cottage with a view of the beautiful Lake Wägital in a breathtaking mountain scenery awaits you. The Wägital is a popular destination for hikers, climbers & fishermen and is particularly suitable for families. It is quiet and surrounded by nature and nevertheless quick and easy to reach from Zurich. The way to the cottage includes a trail of several minutes with no light. The space The cosy cottage offers ample space in the living room to eat together and to play games. The generous patio can be used to eat and play in an amazing scenery. Family friendly and beautiful hikes as well as more challenging hikes and climbing routes are awaiting you. Guest access During their stay, guests have access to the garden, the patio, the sleeping rooms, the kitchen, the bathroom, and of course the entrance area. The cottage has two floors, the lower floor is not accessible for our guests (during their stay the lower floor stays unused). Other things to note This is a cottage in the Swiss mountains. Many things that are taken for granted in cities, you will not find here. So think about whether you want a real experience in the mountains or prefer a very comfortable stay in a city.   The following things are different here:   - Arriving without lights: there are no street lights in Innerthal, the road to the cottage is not lit. We strongly recommend arriving in daylight. There are flashlights in the cottage itself.   - Arrival by footpath: The parking lot is several minutes away from the entrance. The way to the cottage involves a 3 minute descent (ascent then more like 5 min) on a trail with a few steps and roots. It is therefore only recommended to people with sure footing and good shoes. In winter there is also snow on the path. Furthermore, we recommend backpacks as luggage.   - Arrival on mountain roads: Rarely there are landslides that make an access road impassable. The paved road from the village to the parking lot is steep and often snow-covered in winter. A good car and experience with driving in snow is then necessary or a journey on foot from the bus stop in the village below.   - Little water in summer: We have our own spring. The amount of water is therefore limited. We depend on our guests to use this precious resource sparingly. In case of a heat wave, the reservoir can empty completely. Then, there is no more running water in the cottage. In such a case we provide drinking water in bottles and washing water in canisters. These can be filled up at a small spring at the end of the trail or at a stream nearby, which often has enough water even in dry periods.   - cleanliness: We could not rent our cottage at this price if we would dust lamps and door frames before every stay. We keep the kitchen and bathroom clean of course, but the spider renews her web in front of the entrance for every guest, although we remove it at every cleaning ;) - Animals: There is a stream and lots of bushes around the cottage. This means it also has lots of animals like newts, slow worms, foxes, red kites and smaller birds that eat all the spiders and mosquitoes and foxes. Long-sleeved clothing and mosquito spray are very worthwhile depending on the season. It has a fireplace in the garden. Charcoal or the wood must be brought by yourself. Since we do not check the barbecue area regularly, the previous guests may leave it in less than optimal cleanliness.
