Description
Spacious beds, pet friendly, kids love us! 5 Miles from the beach! Sleeps 18! Please note they aren't bedrooms; they're bunks in a dormitory separated into sections by 8 foot partition walls for privacy. Perfect for families, friends gatherings, group activity holiday: divers/walkers/surfers/cyclists etc. AFFORDABLE GROUP ACCOMMODATION *Bookings have sole use of the bunkhouse* To keep in line with Airbnb's anti social behaviour policies we must state that no parties or events are allowed The space Bunkhouse Northumberland, or The Joiners Shop Bunkhouse, is a quirky and unique space set in the soul of Northumberland. This is not a luxury accommodation, it is a bunkhouse. We've got everything you need for a great stay, it's in an amazing location both secluded but close to all of the big tourist attractions of the area, and we keep it affordable for groups stays! The garden is perfect for socialising and enjoying the sun, the downstairs space is cosy and inviting, the dormitory is shared with an element of privacy, the loos and showers are basic. This is a self catered accommodation with a full kitchen, living room with TV and multi fuel stove, bathroom with 2 hot showers, 3 loos and 3 sinks and a dormitory with bunks separated into sections of 5s and 3s by 8ft high partition walls. The garden is beautifully lit by festoon lighting when you want, it is nestled in the woods surrounded by nature and has a large firepit area and an oil drum BBQ for traditional BBQing (please bring charcoal). Duvet hire = £2.50/head for the stay. Every bed is supplied with the bed sheet and 2x pillows with cases. Most people bring a sleeping bag or a duvet but if you'd like to hire a duvet please let us know in advance as there is a small charge for this. Hurkle Durkle Hut From June 2025 the Bell tent we previously had nestled in the woods out back will be opened as a much upgraded A Frame Cabin. It sleeps 2 people and has a hot tub! Bookings are open from June 23rd. Bunkhouse guests are welcome to book the cabin alongside their bunkhouse bookings for anyone in their group after a bit of luxury, you will be able to find the listing on Airbnb soon. The cabin area is fenced off and locked but we just ask that Bunkhouse guests respect the privacy of the cabin guests and do not try to access this private area. HEATING INFO (Winter) The multi-fuel stove downstairs is extremely effective in keeping the kitchen and living room area toasty warm. Coal and wood is available to purchase on site, guests are welcome to bring their own seasoned clean wood or smokeless coal to burn. Upstairs in the dorm and loo area there are 5 electric heaters that run on a coin meter. The meter is located in reception area. If guests are planning on using the heating upstairs they will be required to insert £1 or £2 coins to keep this going. It costs around 50p/hour, so is inexpensive. We hope this will encourage guests to use the heating only when needed. When it is very cold outside hot water bottles and warm clothes are encouraged. 8 hot water bottles have been supplied and there is a large hot water urn for speedy filling. Please get in touch by messaging through Airbnb or using the mobile phone number on the website with any questions or booking requests you need to clarify. A note on my dogs and your arrival: - We have two dogs. If you are nervous of dogs and/or have a dog who does not like other dogs please just let me know before you arrive. They are very easily kept out of your way for the entirety of your stay. Guest access When you arrive there is plenty of parking in front of the bunkhouse and at the top end of the barn. The barn can be accessed and is a great space for kids to play when it's raining outside (part is used for storage). Bunkhouse guests have their own garden accessible from the front or from the back door of the bunkhouse itself. Guests may need to access reception to top up the coin meter, this area is not locked. We have an A Frame Cabin (Hurkle Durkle Hut) tucked 20 meters into the woods out the back, this area is fenced and locked but we ask bunkhouse guests to respect the privacy of hut guests and not try to access this area. Hut guests share the parking space and access the Hut area from the front garden, not from the bunkhouse garden, but you may encounter each other in the car park.
