A beautiful, comfortable, secluded farmhouse with a large private pool in the middle of the prestigious Langhe wine region with gorgeous views of hills lined with vineyards all the way to the Alps. Within walking distance to the villages of Treiso and Barbaresco, and a short car ride to Alba. Extremely private and peaceful with its large pool overlooking the vineyards, the view and into the valley below; on a clear day you can see the the Matterhorn, Monviso and the Monte Rosa mountain peaks. The space In the heart of the wine region of Barbaresco, Langhe, Piemonte, this is a charming, large, tastefully renovated 200 year old farmhouse with large pool at the top of a hill surrounded by its own vineyard and with 270 degrees of spectacular views. Renovated by owner/architect. This is a perfect house for a family, families, and couples vacationing together. Kitchen/Dining: large country kitchen with dishwasher, stove, oven, two sinks, two counter height refrigerators, and an antique country farmhouse table that seats eight comfortably. Fully equipped for the serious cooks;. Veranda: fantastic large covered stone terrace with outside dining with large sturdy wood tables that seat 12 comfortably with ample table linens and plates to suit, sofa and two easy chairs, coffee table. Pool: large, rectangular (4 meters x 12 meters; 1.40 meter (approx. 4 1/2 feet) deep throughout), in-ground pool lined with potted lemon trees with view towards vineyards, mountains, surrounding hillsides, and Tower of Barbaresco, great for serious swimmers and play. The pool is opened for use in mid June and closed in early to mid-September. The pool cannot be heated. Living Room: comfortable, tastefully decorated living room with leather sofa, love seat, two ottomans, and large screen TV; Bedrooms: Bedroom No. 1, on upper level, has a queen sized bed, chest of drawers, 2 armoires, and its own private full bathroom with large walk in shower. This bedroom has a wonderful private balcony overlooking the view; Bedroom No. 2 on upper level has two American sized double beds, chest of drawers, an armoire, and a large shared bathroom with walk-in shower. The bathroom is located right outside the door of the bedroom and is shared with Bedroom No. 3. This bedroom has its own private balcony. Bedroom No. 3 has two single-sized (twin) beds that are arranged together to make an American sized queen bed (if you wish these to be separated please let me know prior to your stay), desk with chair and large screen TV. It shares a large bathroom with walk-in shower, right outside in the hallway, with bedroom No. 2. This is the only bedroom without its own private balcony or direct access to outside, but does have a window toward the view. Bedroom No. 4 on lower level has a queen sized bed, tables, armoire, and its own private full bathroom with walk-in shower. This bedroom has its own doorway to the veranda; Winery: The house has a winery/cantina under half the house, buried into the rock of the hill. It is not used for winemaking since the cantina up the road makes the property's wines. It is a great storage facility for sports equipment and bikes. Pantry/Mudroom: transitional space for pool toys, boots, beach towels, etc, small freezer, shelves, and a half bathroom. Laundry: washing machine, shelves, iron, on upper level in hallway, behind sliding doors. Parking: Parking is in the courtyard in the front of the house. House abuts with another farm house (nobody lives in this house) to form an L shape creating a courtyard for parking in front of the two houses. There is always ample parking. Internet: The house has wireless internet. Coffee: The house has two medium sized mocha (Moka) coffee makers, each makes an espresso for 4 people; these are simple makers that you put on the stove top. This is standard in Italian households and you can (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) how to use them if you are not familiar. There is also a Nespresso espresso machine. Cleaning: The house caretaker can arrange for cleaning as frequently as you need. This would be an additional fee paid directly to her. Pricing and scheduling can be provided after booking. (Please note that the end-of-stay cleaning is automatic and is accommodated in the booking.) Bed sheets, bath towels, hand and kitchen towels, pool towels provided. We use a professional linen service so all bed linens, comforter covers, and towels are professionally cleaned and fresh for your use. Down or cotton comforters on every bed. Grape Harvest: The property is planted with Dolcetto grapevines, some 90 years old. Ninety-nine percent of the production is made into a wine named "Bricco dei Tati," and is sold in primarily in the East Coast of the United States. Harvest is usually from around September 15 to October 1. You are welcome to assist in the harvest if you happen to be staying on the property when it occurs. Property is within walking distance to the charming villages of Treiso (1.5 kilometers) and Neive (2.5 kilometers), and just 10 minutes by car to Alba. Unbeatable views from all rooms of the house. Fantastic hiking and biking, storage for bikes available. Owner is friends with many wineries in the area and is happy to assist you with arranging visits of surrounding wineries, such as Rocche Costamagna in La Morra, Lodali Estate in Treiso, Cascina Montagnola in Colline Tortona. The nearby village of Treiso has four restaurants, one a one-star Michelin, and a winery/cantina, Lodali, that welcomes visitors. It also has a bar/cafe, 2 wine bars, a wine tasting shop, post office, bank, and a general store where you can purchase most of what you need. The Tower of Barbaresco, which you can see from the property, is at the top of a tiny little one street village that boasts great wine bars and several restaurants. It is one of the most beautiful walks from the house, along vineyards and old farm houses, and hardly a car in sight. It is about 10 Km. Alba is a beautiful small city with an historic center that is pedestrian only. It has wonderful dining and shopping and offers festivals during the summer, fall and spring seasons. This region is famous for the truffle and wine and there are truffle and wine festivals and events all over during the fall and summer season. Neive is considered one of Italy's most beautiful hill towns and upper Neive is almost exclusively pedestrian, with great dining and wine bars. Lower Neive has one of the region's best butcher shops (macelleria), and has two supermarkets with several general stores and hardware stores. It has great dining with a trattoria across from the butcher and two pizzerias. There is an open air market on Wednesday mornings with fish, cheese and vegetable vendors. Alba has great dining and shopping with open air markets on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday-- Saturday's market is the biggest with all vendors in attendance. Guests have access to whole house and property. The artist studio, a separate space and not accessible from the house, is not part of the rental. (No one will be there during your stay)The downstairs winery is used for family and house and winery storage. Guests can also use the winery for bike storage. We will not be present in the area during your stay, however we have two caretakers who live nearby and are on hand to help with anything you need. We will also be available via email and phone, which is provided to you after booking. Extremely peaceful property and surroundings, breathtaking views, easy walking through country roads and vineyards. Nearest towns have excellent restaurants and there are many wineries to visit. The beautiful city of Alba is only ten minutes away by car. So much to do in all seasons. Alba has a train station and is the hub for city buses which run also to Treiso. Car rental place not too far as well. Easy drive from Torino and Milano airports. Hair dryers in every bathroom. Guest access Guests have access to whole house and property. (The separate detached guest suite on the estate is not part of the rental. The downstairs cantina/winery is used for our personal house and wine storage, but you can also use it for your own bike storage. Plenty of parking in front of the house.
