The Farmhouse is a characterful, white washed 17th century farmhouse set in a secluded 1.2 acres of woodland with private lake access (shared with two other cottages) leading to the beautiful waters of lake Coniston. Situated in an enviable spot, the cottage is an ideal place for couples, families or small groups, to come and unwind in the peaceful surroundings and explore the Lakes by foot, bike or boat. The space The Farmhouse has been re-furbished to a high standard with a modern kitchen and recently installed family bathroom with roll top bath, shower room and thermostatically controlled central heating. The period feel has been sympathetically maintained with exposed beams in all rooms, cast iron wood burning stove in an original fire place setting, antique furniture and even a 300 year old bread oven. The cottage has two generous bedrooms, one with a king size bed and wash basin, the other with twin beds. In addition, there are two bathrooms, a spacious lounge with wood burner, piano, flat screen Smart TV and DVD player, kitchen/diner with bluetooth speaker, Wifi, porch and ground floor cloakroom area. A private foot path leads from the front door directly to a large grassy area (perfect for children and pets to play) and a private beach where boats/canoes can be launched or barbecues and picnics enjoyed. The footpath and beach are shared with two other adjoining cottages only. Please note, there is no enclosed private garden as such but there is plenty of grassy space down by the lake for your children (or dogs) to play. This is fenced either side leading down to the lake with a path leading up to the cottage on one side and lake on the other. Other numerous footpaths can be accessed easily from the cottage, following lakeside routes to the lovely village of Coniston or fanning out over the stunning scenery of Blawith Common. Coniston village with it's shops, pubs and other amenities is only 4 miles away and other lakeland villages, towns and tourist attractions are all within easy reach. A selection of children's / adults books, games and maps are all available at the cottage for you to use. A BBQ is available for guests to use, and a travel cot, high chair and baby bath. Heating is included plus logs in winter months and all bed linen and towels.
