Step back in time to 1672 with a romantic stay at Hawthorn Cottage. This thatched cottage is a true gem, with its original low beamed ceilings, inglenook fireplace, and cranked staircase. The cottage offers all modern amenities, including private access, underfloor heating, a fully fitted kitchen, and a bathroom with bathtub. Outside you are surrounded by countryside, with an enclosed garden at your disposal and your very own hot tub, which promises to be a relaxing and indulgent experience. The space Hawthorn cottage is a grade 2 listed 'chocolate box' cottage surrounded by the beautiful Cheshire countryside. A stay at Hawthorn Cottage is designed to be a contact-free experience, with guests having their own private access to the cottage and its grounds. An enclosed garden with a well and courtyard has the added benefit of a private hot tub in its very own gazebo. Robes, towels and disposable slippers are provided for your time at the cottage so you won't need to pack anything extra! Country walks are quite literally on your doorstep with Bidlea Dairy ice cream farm a short stroll away and local country pubs a little further. Inside the cottage you will find lots of original features that add to the whole romantic charm, with oak original beams and floors, a cosy inglenook fireplace and a rare original listed cranked staircase. Due to its heritage listing we are unable to modify any of these features for guests with limited mobility. The staircase has low headroom in some areas; therefore we do suggest that guests staying are happy climbing a winding ladder type staircase. - Guests who have difficulty climbing stairs or ladders are encouraged not to book and to contact us as the stairs can be tricky for some. Check-in is at 3 PM while departure is by 10 AM on the final day. This allows us to ensure that we can thoroughly clean and prepare the cottage to the highest standard for all our guests. Guest access Guests have access to their own courtyard with original well and enclosed cottage garden with hot tub. The cottage has its own private access. Other things to note A stay at Hawthorn Cottage is contact-free experience. Guests are welcome to arrive anytime from 3pm on the arrival day, while departure is by 10am on the final day. This allows us to ensure that we can thoroughly clean and prepare the cottage to the highest standard for all our guests. At Hawthorn Cottage, we take cleanliness seriously. We use commercial-grade disinfectants. High-touch areas such as door handles, light switches, and upholstery are cleaned with extra care, and laundry is commercially washed at 90 degrees. We provide cleaning products for guests to use during their stay should they wish to use them. We do not charge a cleaning fee - We ask that all cutlery, crockery, pots and pans to be washed, dried and put away before departure and to strip the beds and empty the fridge at the end of their stay if they have time. The hot tub at Hawthorn Cottage has a set of rules to ensure that it is enjoyed responsibly. Please bathe before using the hot tub, avoid using oils, creams, or fake tan, and do not consume food or smoke while in the hot tub. The hot tub should not be used continuously for more than 1 hour at a time, and guests should sign the hot tub safety disclaimer before using it. Unfortunately no candles and naked flames permitted in the cottage The cottage lies adjacent to working farm fields so please be aware that farm machinery may be in use during your stay. Please also be aware that muck spreading can take place a couple of times a year. We have asked our farmers to give us as much notice as possible to let us know when this is happening to inform guests of this, however this is sometimes not possible. Hot Tub rules: - Children under 16 must not use the hot tub – Bathers must not exceed the maximum number permitted in the spa pool (4) – You must bathe before using the Hot Tub - No guests to enter the Hot Tub wearing any oils, creams or fake tan as it will cause damage to the Hot Tub and discolour (to orange) the water, and affect the filtration system - Do not consume food or smoke in the Hot Tub - Do not use glassware in or near the Hot Tub – please use the plastic glasses provided - Close the lid and lock the clips when the Hot Tub is not in use - Do not use the Hot Tub continuously for more than a maximum of 1 hour at a time as this will result in temperature loss and deterioration in the water quality – leave at least a one-hour gap between each period of use - Read the Hot Tub Safety Rules, and sign the Disclaimer
