The Talgarth Mill House

The Mill House is situated on Talgarth Town Square and is adjacent to Talgarth Mill, a water powered flour mill run by volunteers. Talgarth Mill houses an artisan bakery, a café & a craft shop. Talgarth achieved Gold in Wales in Bloom in 2021 and 2022 and a Gold in Britain in Bloom 2022. The pretty river Enig flows through the centre of town. Its situation is perfect for walking and cycling in the Black Mountains and the Brecon Beacons. Canoeing, sailing and horse-riding activities are nearby. The space The Mill House has been sympathetically restored to a high standard keeping very much the traditional cottage style it once was. On the ground floor the bespoke small galley kitchen is fully equipped with a fridge/freezer, hob and oven, dishwasher, washing machine and microwave leads into the dining area. This houses an oak dining table, with pendant feature lights over. A cosy lounge with the original fireplace welcomes you to unwind, watch TV, read or just sit and relax. There is space to store walking gear. A downstairs toilet. Upstairs a bathroom with waterfall shower, toilet and vanity unit. Bedroom one, the blue room, features a king size bed, wardrobe and a chest of drawers. In the floral bedroom there is a double bed, built in wardrobes and a dressing table with drawers. The green bedroom there is a single bed and chest of drawers. A good night's sleep is important, so all beds have very good quality mattresses and bed linen. All towels are provided. Although there is no designated garden, guests will be able to use the Mill gardens, when open, there is seating alongside the river. An ideal place to relax enjoying a drink and spot a wagtail or even a kingfisher if you’re lucky. Guest access Guests have access to the whole house. The back door leads onto the Mill yard. Other things to note The Mill House does have a windy steepish staircase so is not suitable for anyone with mobility difficulties and young children. The front door leads out onto the pavement. The Mill House is situated on The Town Square so there can sometimes be deliveries to the shops and cafe in the mill early morning, with lorries briefly parking outside the house.
