Have you ever stayed in an estate with over 400 years of history? Welcome to our home, Casa Cerdà de Palou. Enjoy the unbelievable and timeless beauty of the simple things. A never-ending lunch. An afternoon relaxing by the pool. Early morning vineyard walks. Picking figs for the afternoon snack. Tasting the most delicious local wines. We're a family of 4: Santiago is a wine-maker and was born here. Adelina used to work in the wine industry and is now retired and works on the farm (other than being an amazing cook she makes beautiful furniture with recycled tiles and vineyard tools, too!). The daughters Anna and Maria live and work in the area, too. Our location is optimal. You're a brief drive to Barcelona (40-45 minutes), a stone throw away from some of the best restaurants in the world (Celler de Can Roca, Disfutar, Tickets, Sant Pau and more) ...15 minutes from the beach (in Sitges, Vilanova, and elsewhere), close to mind-blowing wineries, medieval villages, the stunning mountaintop monastery of Montserrat, art museums and galleries, two and a half hours from Madrid by high-speed train, and about 10 seconds from beautiful trails which will lead you through my family's ancestral vineyard. Use your house to relax or as a hub to visit our amazing country. Penedès, Priorat, Tarragona, Costa Brava, even France are a drive away. Explore more and venture to Madrid, Andalucia, the Basque Country, Galicia, even Portugal! Our four-room, two-bathroom house is a comfortable, private, affordable, and incredibly relaxing way to visit one of Spain’s most vibrant wine-making regions and get a taste of one of the country’s hidden gems! You'll have access to the house in its entirety with a separate, private entrance from our main home. The space is fit for up to 10 people and is seconds away from the family vineyard -- a place all guests are encouraged to enjoy -- complete with a shared pool area for optimal sun bathing, a charcoal barbeque and a gorgeous private outdoor dining area (please see photos). Both the pool and dining area boast sweeping vistas of the vineyard. Your house itself is a quiet, charming escape complete with a fully equipped traditional Catalan kitchen to meet all of your cooking and dining needs; it has plates, glasses, pots, pans, microwave, oven, and even a wood-burning fireplace! Ooh, and complementary olive oil made on premises from our very own olive trees. Truly fantastic. The two full bathrooms include fresh towels, shampoo and gel. The bedrooms are cozy, beautifully decorated spaces. Two of the four rooms come with one queen-sized bed each and the other two rooms come with three single beds each. We always provide fresh linens. You will have access to the vineyards for beautiful walks and great runs; I recommend early morning runs or runs at sundown. You will have a private washer and we will provide laundry detergent. If you need anything or have any questions, we're here to help make your stay as enjoyable as possible! Shaded parking is available right next to your house (shared with other guests), as well as recycling bins. -Note: For summer we prioritize longer stays (1 week at least). Guest access The swimming pool is shared with other guests. Other things to note Please make sure you recycle plastic, paper, glass and other trash!
