Description

A perfect hideaway for those looking for quiet relaxation. This stylish, bijou, glass-walled, waterside studio offers a comfy 4’6”double bed with memory foam mattress, compact kitchen/dining and a cute, stylish curtained shower room with dressing area. There’s a private hot tub, waterside seating, sun loungers and an elevated deck offering glorious views across the estuary. There's a fire pit terrace and free use of guest kayaks on the beachside too if you fancy heading out on the water The space The Boat House has been designed to make the most of its stunning location with a wall of bi-folding doors to slide right back allowing the outdoors in. Facing south west means there’s sun on the deck for most of the day and you can watch the evening sun reflected in the water as it set behind the hills opposite. As a ‘dark sky area’ there are no street lights to spoil your evenings stargazing from the hot tub! The studio comes fully equipped with a smart, compact shower room with an adjacent curtained dressing area and hanging space. The kitchen area offers a full size under- counter fridge, Smeg ceramic hob, combi microwave and dining breakfast bar. You'll find a hairdryer and iron tucked away and there's a portable cooling fan for balmier evenings. There's an outdoor clothes drying rack for towels and beachwear too. There is no technology to be found, no computers or TV’s to distract you so you can enjoy a complete digital detox but if you simply can't resist, there's a good phone and 4G signal you could choose to hotspot a laptop via your phone via a USB or bluetooth connection. Parking is free and on a quiet residential road alongside the beach access to the property which is just two minutes away from where you will be parking. Guest access Guests have private uninterrupted access to the beachside and garden terraces leading from the beach up to firepit terrace and beyond to the terrace upon which the Boat House and hot tub sit. In case of emergencies or exceptionally high tides, guests may access their cars/the property by venturing up the steps alongside the property through the private gardens of the property above and follow the gravel path up to the roadside. This path is marked with a 'PRIVATE' sign so we would ask that guests use this access only where absolutely necessary but please feel free to do so when the need arises. Please note that access for those with balance or mobility issues could prove challenging because of undulating surfaces on beach access, mooring ropes and steep steps between the beach and The Boat House. * Not suitable for wheelchairs or wheeled mobility aides or walking frames * May be suitable for visitors using walking sticks. * Note exterior photos showing stone steps from beachside and between terraces up to the property. * Access steps do not have handrails. * If you have seen 'The Salt Path' film and fancy trying to walk a section (or all) of the South West Coastal Path, The Boat House is located just up Restronguet Creek and provides a beautiful detour off the the SouthWest Coast Path at Falmouth (or St Mawes if you are travelling the path in reverse order). * If you arriving on foot then simply take the Ferry from Falmouth up the Fal river to the National Trust House, Trellisick. Get off here and a 30-45 minute walk will bring you to The Boat House, a long soak in the hot tub and a well earned rest in this quiet backwater. At the end of your break and to continue your journey, walk back to Trellisick and a few minutes further down the lane, passing the entrance to the house, you'll find the King Harry Ferry which will take you across the Fal river to the Roseland Peninsular where a stunning walk from St Just to St Mawes will allow you to rejoin the SW Coast path again to continue your onward journey. Other things to note The access to The Boat House is very quirky and via a beachside path a few minutes away from parking on a residential road. We recommend guests arrive in daylight wherever possible as there may be trip hazards (mooring ropes etc) that are more challenging to navigate in the dark. A phone torch, flat shoes and non-wheeled case are also recommended!!! This is a dark sky area and very little ambient light is available unless its a full moon. No howling please!!!
