The garage was even used as a stable for the horse and carriages to make house calls. We fell in love with the top-floor apartment, decided to do some updates, and share it with everyone on Airbnb! We call it "The Clara Bell", named in honor of the doctor's wife. We hope you enjoy its cozy and unique character, and the attention to detail and decor throughout as much as we do! That one went well, so we decided to completely renovate the next apartment down and call it "The Thomas Grand" in honor of Dr. Thomas Russell. This unit sleeps 6, has great views, hardwood floors and much more, and is available on Airbnb too for you to enjoy! ♡♡ The DocHouse Suites are located in downtown Grand Rapids, MN, within a short walk to the NEW Brewery (Rapids Brewing Co.) and the NEW Winery (Unwined Up North) as well as many local shops and coffee shops like The Lake & Co. and Brewed Awakening, plus more! ♡♡ We are also located just 5 miles from the NEW Tioga Recreation Area with tons of some of the states best mountain biking trails, with many more being built, as well as less than a mile from the Mesabi Trail entrance at the Fairgrounds for great views and a more leisurely or long distance ride! We want your stay to be great! That means however you prefer it...you will be able to come and go without any interaction, using a keypad, or we are typically available and only a phone call or message away! The neighborhood is very safe, well lit and is in Downtown Grand Rapids. You can walk, drive, bike or call Arrowhead Transit to pick you up. There are also local taxi services available. You will be located Downtown so many things are within walking distance. ⇨ Suite is on the 3rd floor with great views but does require the guest to climb stairs. ⇨ Extra guests fees will be applied if additional bedding in couch is used or if more than noted guests stay the night as cleaning/laundry cost go up ⇨ This is a multi-unit building, please be respectful of other guests/tenants and keep noise to a minimum (quiet time is between 10pm-8am) ⇨ Laundry requires going outside to another door and stairs to the basement. It is $1 (quarters) per load (detergent pods provided). It is also shared with other guests in the building. ⇨ There is no cable TV but we do provide a Smart TV to sign into your favorite streaming apps, as well as fast WiFi, and an HDMI cable. ⇨ No Smoking on Property (includes balcony & outside all the way to the curb) If caught smoking guest will be charged accordingly ⇨ Please remove shoes when entering suite ⇨ Infants and children are welcome as long as you are aware of, and ok with, the following: There are 31 stairs to climb to apartment as well as access to a high balcony.
