Y Beudy - Converted barn near Caernarfon
Description
Our converted barn is situated on a working farm, a flat 15 minute walk away from the royal town of Caernarfon. Beautiful views of both the Snowdonia mountains and the Menai Straits towards Anglesey can be seen from the barn. Perfect base for enjoying the many attractions Snowdonia has to offer. The space In 2010 when the price of milk plummuted from 21p a litre to just 8p, Is-Helen Farm decided to give up milking and retire the 'Beudy' (Welsh for cow shed). It has now been given a new lease of life as an AirBnB, converted using local materials and many features of the milking industry have been kept. The barn is mostly open plan other than the bathroom. Downstairs has a small kitchen, lounge and bathroom. The kitchen is equipped with an oven, hob, kettle, microwave, and toaster. A double-height lounge has 2 sofas (1 which opens to be a double sofa bed) and a 42inch TV. An oak staircase leads you up to the mezzanine bedroom where 2 single beds can either be securely clipped together to be a super king size bed, or kept separate depending on your preference. Please note: This is a loft-style mezzanine bedroom with limited headroom and exposed beams. Guests should take extra care when moving around the room, especially near the sides of the bed. Guest access To the side of the barn is a small utility room which has a washing machine you can use. You can use our washing line to dry your clothes. As we are a working farm, cows, calves and sheep can be seen at certain times of the year. Other things to note Please note we have NO FREEZER in the barn although you are welcome to put a small number of items in ours. We have a recommended dog sitter available on request.
