The Barn at Lower Birch Farmhouse

The Barn at Lower Birch Farmhouse is situated in a tranquil valley in North Devon. Nestled between the rugged North Devon Coastline, the wilds of Exmoor, and the surfing beaches of Saunton, Woolacombe and Croyde. The Barn sits on 10 acres of pasture land and gardens that it shares with the main farmhouse which dates back to the 16th century. You can find us on In$tagram @lowerbirchfarmhouse The space The Barn offers a light, bright, open plan living space comprising a log burner, reclaimed timber floors, oak beams, super comfy sofa, freesat TV, DAB radio with bluetooth, dining table, lots of plants, and a kitchen featuring all the bits and bobs you'd expect to find in your own home. On the bookshelf you will find a helpful selection of books including guides to local walks/cycle routes/pubs etc, along with some boardgames for your own amusement! The bathroom features a monsoon shower and some toasty underfloor heating, along with eco friendly hand wash and shower gel provided. In the bedroom you will find a king size farmhouse bed complete with hypnos mattress and soft crinkled flax linen sheets for a restful nights sleep. You will also discover a freestanding bathtub, perfect for a relaxing soak after a day of Devon adventure! Outside there is a private walled patio garden with table and chairs for alfresco dining and a cast iron fire bowl with grill should you wish to BBQ. Of an evening you can sit outside and enjoy all that the Devon dark skies have to offer including bats, owls and more stars than you could hope to imagine. Perfect for all you stargazers out there! If the cows are not in the field (beware the bull!), you are also welcome to take a wander through our fields, down to the stream, where you will likely spot a buzzard or two and you might even catch sight of the herd of deer that we share the valley with. Magical! As your host we will provide a homemade loaf on arrival and a box of eggs from our lovely friendly free range chickens. There will be milk in the fridge and a bottle of wine on the table. In the cupboards you will find tea, coffee, sugar, olive oil, vinegar, salt & pepper, and a few other store cupboard essentials to get you started. We also provide hand soap in the kitchen, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets and eco friendly cleaning products for your stay.
