Rental unit in Malham
Description
Comfortable and spacious, self-contained twin or double bedroom with en-suite shower room in the heart of the southern Dales. Numerous paths and a choice of great places to eat out. Friar's Garth is a quiet and secluded group of houses at the eastern end of the village. The space The bedroom and en-suite are self contained and on the first floor, and they feature sloping ceilings and low beams. There is electric heating and the en-suite has WC, wash basin and shower. The property is 5 minutes walk up from the village centre and guests will be able to buy breakfast in either the Old Barn Café or the Lister Arms. Both of the pubs in the village also provide lunch and evening meals (we also provide a jar of granola, as well as tea and coffee in the room for a quick DIY breakfast). There is a small fridge in the room with milk, and a kettle for making hot drinks. There are 2 matching single beds which can be pushed together and covered with a super-king sized duvet if required (please note that the mattresses do no not zip together though). There are a couple of comfy chairs and a TV, and enough space to put up a travel cot if you are bringing one. To get to the room you need to climb an outside flight of stone steps; these are worn and uneven in places and we wouldn’t recommend them for anyone with limited mobility or for unsupervised young children. There is space on the driveway for parking and we can usually sort out somewhere to dry wet gear if you need it. Respectfully, we do don’t allow smoking either in the room or anywhere on the property, including in the gardens and driveway. We are happy to welcome dogs though, and have a couple of dogs and a cat of our own. Friars Garth Farmhouse was built in the seventeenth century for the local manager from Bolton Priory which owned half of Malham at that time. After that, it was a working farm until just a few decades ago. It is situated on the outskirts of the village and surrounded by meadows. We look forward to welcoming you and looking after you! Guest access Guests have access to the studio and a parking space. We can provide access to a utility room on request for storing muddy boots and drying wet clothes. Other things to note Friars Garth is a peaceful part of the village, just 5 minutes away from the day-time buzz of the village centre. Perfect for a quiet get-away!
