Our house is well located in Belves, which is designated as one of the most beautiful villages in France. It makes a perfect location for exploring the Dordogne and Black Perigord. You can visit many Medieval and Bastide villages, The Valley of Vezere which includes a museum of pre-history, several caves and Troglodyte areas. The area is known for its food, including Fois Gras, Walnuts, Mushrooms, and many other fresh foods. You can canoe, kayak or swim in the Dordogne river nearby. A two bedroom, two bath village house in one of the most beautiful villages in France. The house is bright, cheery, and well equipped, with a garden for outside dining and entertaining. Both bedrooms are bright with morning sun, and breathtaking views of the surrounding area. The middle floor has a lounge area, bedroom, toilette and shower room. The top floor has a Bedroom and full bathroom. Please be advised the stairs to the top floor are steep. We do not live in the area, but do have a local person to meet you on arrival, and answer questions. She speaks French and some English. This house is on a quiet street at the top of the village, providing wonderful views of the surrounding countryside. It is a few minutes walk to the village center, tourist bureau, restaurants, and shops. Plan on visiting the Troglodyte Caves beneath the village. It will be best having a car to explore the surrounding area, and seeing all the beautiful sights of the Black Perigord.
