Secluded Pembrokeshire farm stay -Cornmill Cottage

Two bedroom cottage set in the tranquil countryside of rural Pembrokeshire. Nestled in a courtyard of tastefully converted stone barns, Cornmill Cottage offers both a beautiful space to relax in and a perfect base from which to explore the stunning county and all that it has to offer! Tucked away at the end of a secluded country lane in the Castle Pill Valley, rural bliss, peaceful woodland trails, the stunning Pembrokeshire Coast Path and a tidal inlet of the Cleddau Estuary await you! The space All of our contemporary open-plan cottages have been renovated to a high standard and are beautifully furnished to ensure your stay is a comfortable one. Each of the cottages provide family-sized living spaces with modern furnishings and a warm, cosy feel. They have well-equipped modern open-plan kitchens to ensure the keen cook has everything at hand to create their holiday feast, whilst also being able to partake in any holiday entertainment! Each of our four cottages are slightly different in size, features and furnishings, so you’ve plenty of choice when booking with us. We can also accommodate large group bookings (between multiple properties). CORNMILL COTTAGE This beautiful two bedroom cottage is situated in our Long Barn, a stunning grade 2 listed stone barn built in 1850, which now offers a contemporary and tastefully furnished space whilst retaining its character as one of the oldest barns on the farm. The modern open-plan kitchen is well-equipped with fridge/freezer, microwave, hob, oven, dishwasher and washer/drier. The living space has two comfortable sofas, a generous television and a large modern dining table for serving family meals. Upstairs, the two bedrooms have comfortable beds (a King in the master bedroom and the option of either having a King or two (2ft 6'') singles in the second bedroom; please advise preference upon booking) and so can accommodate either two couples or a couple and two children. Benefiting from 1.5 bathrooms; the main bathroom has a powerful shower over a bath and downstairs has a convenient cloakroom. Guest access Luscious laurel hedging screens a private and secure garden at the rear of the property, whilst attractive landscaped communal lawns offer secluded areas for enjoying the countryside and local wildlife. The private garden is equipped with outdoor dining area and BBQ and is fenced to keep pets and children safe. Parking is at the rear of the property (with sufficient parking for two cars). The Pembrokeshire Coast Path is just a few hundred yards from the property and leads to further trails that wind their way through ancient oak woodland and to the Castle Pill Inlet of the Cleddau Estuary. Woodpeckers, kingfishers and herons are all common sightings, and crabbing opportunities provide hours of fun for little ‘uns. The woods are also home to a community project which has constructed two roundhouses with a free access woodland campfire area adjacent a freshwater stream perfect for paddling and dam building! From the water’s edge, keen walkers can either follow the meandering coast at low tide, along the old railway line path all the way to Milford Marina and all that it offers. Or you can head along the Coast Path to the quaint village of Hazelbeach taking in views of the impressive energy infrastructure of Milford Haven. Here a riverside pub, The Ferry Inn, serves hearty pub food on its waterfront terrace and welcomes dogs with open arms. The cottage is situated at the heart of our family’s working eco-farm although unfortunately unrestricted access to fields and farm is not permitted for safety and insurance reasons. Other things to note Please note the standard bed arrangement is as follows: The King bed in the Master bedroom will be made up if the booking is made for 2 persons, the King bed and one of the Single beds will be made up for 3 persons, the King bed and two Singles will be made up for 2 adults and 2 children/3 adults and 1 child, both King beds will be made up if the booking is made for 4 persons. Please note, if booking for 2 couples, we can accommodate you perfectly in our two King sized beds. However, if the couple in the second bedroom would like separate beds, the singles are 2ft 6'' wide (full length). Finally, please take note of the following: - Please ensure children are supervised around the ponds (they are deep), and the roads (we have farm traffic as well as residential traffic using them) - Please ensure that hands are washed if you go for a walk outside and particularly if you touch any fences/gates/soil/branches as we have livestock as well as native wildlife that visit our surrounding area - Please check that the stair gates fitted in the property are tightened to your satisfaction - If you notice anything missing/not to your satisfaction in the property itself, please let us know within 24 hours of your arrival and we will do our best to address it - If you have any queries about anything or want any recommendations, either contact us via Airbnb, or ring one of us if we don't get back to you soon enough (our numbers are in the welcome folders provided in the property, as well as on the directions sent prior to your arrival).
