HISTORY The structure dates back to the 1600’s and according to the stories handed down for generations it was originally a convent. From generation to generation it acquired various transformations and during the last century part of the structure became an Extra Vergin Olive Oil Mill and a Flour mill, evidenced by the large and picturesque iron wheel that still exists behind the house. The apartment on the ground floor has been restored maintaining the existing features of the olive press still present today. Inside the apartment there is an old piece of machinery which was used to press the olives and in the floor covered by a glass panel you can see the terra cotta container to preserve the freshly pressed olive oil. Also visible are the original supporting arches of the old structure. The original “stone machinery” that was used to press the olives has been placed in the garden. EXISTING The apartment has 2 bedrooms, one bathroom and one large room used as a living room and dining area.
