River Cottage, built in 1880, has far reaching views over the River Wye & is dripping in traditional features from a log-burner to beams, in a quaint village. It is chic, stylish and fully equipped, making it the perfect retreat. It is ideally situated to explore the Wye Valley, Forest of Dean & Brecon Beacons. Hikers, cyclists, canoeists & climbers are spoilt for choice. The area is rich in famous historical & heritage sites, offering excellent family days out, independent events & shopping The space Originally a tin-miners cottage, River Cottage is a spacious and relaxing three double bedroom cottage in Redbrook Village. Each bedroom has a king bed in it; the third bedroom bed can be split into two single beds offering flexible sleeping arrangements. Newly refurbished, the cottage boasts two modern bathrooms and modern kitchen with integrated appliances. Fluffy towels and pure cotton bed linen come as standard, with toiletries provided and a little welcome treat too! It is well equipped, with plenty of games and books in case you get a rainy day. The garden has been newly refurbished too; it has extensive views over the River Wye and Redbrook village from the top of the tiered garden. The top tier has a large decking area with a rattan sofa set to relax on, on sunny days, the lower tier is grass with a BBQ area. There is also a bistro set just outside the French doors to enjoy a morning coffee at. We are spoilt for spectacular views over the River Wye from the full frontage of the cottage too and it is directly on the famous Offa’s Dyke footpath, with the Wye River walk on the opposite bank of the River, easily accessible via the village bridge. The cottage is family and dog friendly and has two private parking spaces. Redbrook village is quaint and friendly, with a fantastic Village Shop with plenty of supplies and a Post Office counter. There is an award-nominated playground in the village, that will keep little ones entertained for hours and two village pubs serving delicious local food and drink. It is 3 miles from Monmouth, which offers town amenities and is 15 miles to Chepstow Racecourse. Golfers and fishing enthusiast are also well catered for in the area. Cleaning: we take your safety and comfort seriously. River Cottage is deep cleaned between each booking, with an additional COVID clean as standard. Staying with children? A travel cot, highchair and stairgate are available on request. Staying with dogs? Fluffy friends should get a holiday too. Two dogs are welcome at River Cottage during each stay, please let us know if you would like to bring more and we are happy to review. Dog treats, a dog bed and towel are all provided.
