Sawmill Eschachthal, Eschach
Sägemühle Eschachthal
Description
The house was originally an oil mill, later a sawmill before it sank into a slumber for the last few decades. In 2018, the core renovation and conversion to a residential building took place. Fortunately, the character of the old sawmill was preserved, especially by the refurbished exposed beams. The house is located at an altitude of 900 m, so the climate is a bit rougher, but still very sunny in summer. The location on the Eschach is special, which invites you to swim in the summer. The space The apartment "Eschach" (about 120 m²) is spread over two floors. It consists of a spacious and open-plan living room with adjoining dining room and open fully equipped kitchen-living room as well as a large bathroom with bathtub on the upper floor. On the upper floor there is also an open gallery, which can be reached via a wooden staircase. In the basement, in addition to a bathroom with shower, there are two bedrooms with large patio doors. Particularly noteworthy are the different living levels, the refurbished wooden beams and high ceilings of the apartment due to the special architecture of the sawmill. The apartment is very bright and faces south and east with patio doors on the first floor, so you can enjoy nature in the garden and overlooking the adjacent Eschach in summer. Sun loungers and terrace furniture are provided. Attention: Due to the structural conditions with open, partly steep stairs and the different levels, the apartment is not suitable for toddlers and/or parents with babies due to the risk of falling or tripping. Guest access The apartment is accessible via a separate house and apartment entrance. Other things to note In winter, the area is extremely snowy. Outdoor activities such as snowshoeing, cross-country skiing and also alpine skiing are very possible, e.g. Schwärzenlifte with ski school in neighboring Eschach, Kreuzthaler Skilift Gohersberg, cross-country ski trails in Winterstetten and Buchenberg. In summer, the Eschach Valley and its surroundings are ideal for hiking (Schwarzer Grat can be reached in 1 hour on foot), mountain biking, swimming in the Eschacher pond or the "Hausgumpen" directly in front of the sawmill. In the village there is a small shop with regional products and a small outdoor pool with a kiosk.
