La Maison de Mél, group gîte with pool

Located between the Black Mountain and Ariège, in the heart of the countryside, 5 minutes from the Canal du Midi, 45 minutes from the city of Carcassonne, 30 minutes from Toulouse, you will stay in a renovated old farm typical of the Lauragais. The cottage is close to all shops (5 min), an organic goat farm (800 m), the Revel market, and many lakes. The space You will enjoy this place if you like calm and nature, because the gîte is surrounded by a private garden of 4000 m2, fields and woods, at the top of a hill. You will also enjoy a large 25 m2 terrace overlooking the wooded garden and overlooking the pool. The view of the Pyrenees from the house is beautiful on sunny days, and at night it's a great spot for stargazing. So, here, no television, no private internet network, and no air conditioning but the rooms are cool and ventilated, and the telephone network works very well (a screen connectable to smartphone networks is still accessible, but wisely stored away while waiting for a special occasion). Everything is done to enhance your stay! I put at your disposal the garden furniture necessary for your outdoor meals, a barbecue, a plancha, parasols, deckchairs and hammocks, ping-pong table and rackets, badminton net and rackets, petanque games, Nordic skittles and darts, buoys, swing, teepee, zip line and picnic table for children, board games and library for young and old. The herbs are also to be picked at will! From May, a dormitory of 5 additional beds will be open for you to gain in comfort of organization of beds (2 bunk beds with safety barrier + 2 double beds 140/200 + 1 child bed 70/140). The salt pool, its wooden beach and solar shower will obviously be privatized for the duration of your stay. This pool is 10 m x 5 m for a depth of 1.20 m to 1.80 m, with a step allowing easy access over the 5 m width. It is fenced, has a padlock on the gate and a submerged alarm. Guest access You'll have access to the entire cottage privately (see map in the photo gallery). On the ground floor of 150 m2, 1 kitchen equipped with dishwasher and washing machine, 1 living room, 3 bedrooms, 1 dormitory, 1 shower room with a second washing machine and 1 separate toilet. This space corresponds to the old stables, it always remains very cool in summer, even during heat waves, thanks to the thick stone walls. I have arranged the first 3 bedrooms in the "boxes", which therefore do not have windows, but open directly onto the large north/south corridor, bathed in light by large French windows. On the 150 m2 floor, a large, very bright living space comprising 1 living room, 1 kitchen equipped with a second dishwasher, 1 office space/game room with sleeping area on a small mezzanine, 3 bedrooms, 1 bathroom with bathtub, 1 shower room and 2 separate toilets. The terrace is adjacent to this space, and accessible directly from the outside (secured staircase), or from the inside, through an XXL bay window, thus offering a very pleasant "indoor/outdoor" living space in the summer. In winter you will heat up with wood in the main rooms! (radiators in bedrooms and bathrooms). The cottage offers a large capacity, however the contract I offer includes bed and bath linen for 15 people only. I remain open, but I will ask you to remain reasonable in terms of your staffing on site, in case you would like to invite additional guests to 15 people. Your pets may be allowed, and I suggest that we discuss this together beforehand, as the garden is only partially fenced and the old cat and some chickens and dogs from the surrounding area walk there freely! I will be your only direct neighbor (attached caretaker's house), always there to welcome you, always reachable, even if I am often absent during your stays and in any case remain very discreet. The layout and organization of the place really offers you a totally private and unoverlooked indoor and outdoor space! Other things to note Check-in and check-out times remain flexible throughout the year, except in high season (July/August), check-in from 5 p.m., check-out 9 a.m., in order to allow me to prepare for the next guests at this large gîte and guarantee you optimal comfort and cleanliness for your stay. Luggage drop-off is of course possible before 5 p.m. I can also organize myself if necessary to offer you more flexibility for your arrival and departure times, we just need to discuss this beforehand!
