Tucked away along the banks of a winding river in a medieval fortified town, this house has 2 en-suite bedrooms and a spacious layout that takes full advantage of its location for lovely views and a relaxing vibe. The house is centuries old but recently renovated to provide modern amenities. The town is in between the main wine producing regions of the Cote d'Or, and is perfectly situated for wine tours, cycling outings, nature walks, and soaking up the countryside charm. The space (23 Feb 2026) Sleeping features include: - A lower ensuite with king bed (optionally configured to two twin beds on request) with 3/4 bath (shower) accessed by separate exterior steps adjacent to entry door, including it's own private riverside patio; - An upper ensuite with queen bed with 3/4 bath (Shower) and a roof deck overlooking the river. - The Living Room has a double size pull-out bed (not fold out), a 2nd sofa available for additional sleeping arrangement consideration on request, and an adjacent full bath (claw foot tub). The kitchen has a wood burning fireplace with additional firewood stocked outside. Car parking is in the shared cul-de-ac (impasse) for a car preferably at the far end of the cul (in any case leaving manuevering room for the neighbor's cars & back-out of garages. Thank you. The house is a charming 1 bedroom, 2 bath vacation holiday rental which comfortably sleeps 2-4, nestled in a quiet section of the center of town on the bank of the river Armançon, with a breathtaking view of the village & river. The house has two en-suites, a living room salon with expansive windows, and a large kitchen with 6-person table seating and fireplace; clothes washer & dryer; and three outside patio areas with seating and a BBQ. We keep the house furnished with all the little details that transform a house into a comfortable home. As such, we not only provide all linens and towels (even bathrobes), extra pillows and blankets, a kitchen fully stocked with plenty of dishes, utensils, and cookware, wi-fi internet and local & long distance telephone to allow you to take full advantage of of your holiday whether you want to get away from or stay in touch with your world back home. Guests are greeted with a welcome basket and a fully prepared house ready for your relaxation and enjoyment. Our managers are local and can respond to any questions or needs. Our house is in the medieval village of Semur-en-Auxois and has a perfect combination of location and privacy, only a short walk to village center yet its immediate surroundings are tranquil & secluded with spectacular views. A car is not required to get around Semur however most people rent a car to fully enjoy the region. There is high-speed train (TGV) service from Paris including direct service from Charles de Gaulle (CDG) airport to the adjacent village of Montbard with rental cars available locally near its train station. Where is Semur-en-Auxois? Semur-en-Auxois is located in the world-famous Cote d'Or department of the Burgundy (Bourgogne) region of France, about halfway between Paris and Geneva. It is also almost exactly midway between the wine centers of Chablis and Beaune. Burgundy is a region rich in culture and history, and famous for its food and wine. Semur-en-Auxois is itself a town filled with fascinating historical sights as well as more modern amenities, the perfect blend of quaint French-countryside living and up-to-date resources. Other things to note The house is centuries old and has a somewhat unique floor plan. It is divided into three levels: a main level with the living areas, an upper level with the first bedroom, and a lower level with the second bedroom. Access to the lower level is by an exterior entrance on the riverfront patio. This makes the lower level in some ways like a separate suite, which can be advantageous for some parties; however, groups with small children may not enjoy this feature of the house.
