Woodbox Somerset -a quirky secluded woodland cabin

Welcome to our quirky little space in the Quantocks. A renovated wooden horsebox set in its own private ancient woodland, far from the madding crowd. Complete privacy with wood fired hot tub and outdoor shower. Full plumbed bathroom by July 2025. A huge deck and swing from which to watch the wildlife and the sunset. Waking distance to dog friendly award winning gastro- pub and direct access onto the hills - ideal for walkers, cyclists and dog owners. Quirky, rustic, peaceful and beautiful. The space A lovingly restored vintage wooden horsebox converted into a snug and quirky cabin. Inside there is a high cabin bed, kitchenette and big super comfy seating area with table. Fully furnished with sink, double hob, fridge and microwave. The cabin has electricity and standard sockets.. There is a kettle and coffee machine with pods. Cosy wood burner for autumn and winter stays. Big enough space to hold a travel cot in addition. There is a radio, record player and lots of books! Huge covered deck outside, overlooking our beautiful valley and nature reserve. Set in its own 1/2 acre of ancient woodland. Complete privacy - not overlooked at all. It is such a peaceful spot, the only sounds are owls, who nest at the top of the wood and the cows in the bottom field. Regular visits by the local deer and badgers if you are lucky! Please note there is a mobile phone mast at the top of the wood, but this is not seen once you are in the wood itself. Guest access The caravan is beautifully secluded in its own wood but this means to reach it there is a steep walk up and down hill of about 1/4 of a mile from the car parking. The track through the wood is now fully surfaced so good under foot. Although we will take your stuff on a quad bike, the walk is still necessary for you coming in and out. There is a hillbilly hot tub - this works from a firebox and takes some time to heat up. It will be emptied between guests. There is now a fully plumbed indoor bathroom !!! Other things to note Gates will need to be closed as we have curious horses who like to free range and even join you on the deck given half a chance!!! The wood is securely dog fenced and far from livestock (apart from horses) or other dogs so ideal for those who are more reactive. The wood is a haven for wildlife - lots of opportunity to commune with nature in total privacy but it does require a walk to get there. Pls note there is no WiFi but good mobile signal.
