The Stone Cellar Suite is in one of the oldest homes in the oldest town in Tennessee! Formerly a boarding house for Jonesborough's first female college, our home is ready to welcome guests once again! The Stone Cellar Suite is a personal space with a private entrance under the main house. We are walkable to everything our little town has to offer and have a cute view. That said, we are in a loud and lively spot! You will hear action outside, the train nearby, and our footsteps upstairs. You will be staying in the cellar of our historic home built circa 1836. The original limestone and exposed hand-hewn log beams makes it feel like you’ve stepped back in time in Tennessee’s oldest town! Please note that due to the rustic stone walls, proximity to road and train, and lack of child proofing, we are NOT kid friendly. You will have your own private guest suite in the cellar. You will have a separate entrance and your own personal space that is locked from the main house. There is a kitchenette, bathroom, laundry nook, and sitting area in the cellar. It’s like a small efficiency apartment. :) It's cozy for solo travelers or couples, but we cannot accommodate more than two guests. We live upstairs so you will hear our footsteps overhead at times and may see us taking our dog for a walk, but otherwise, we will give you your privacy! Welcome to East Tennessee! You will be within walking distance to everything Jonesborough has to offer, but please note that there isn't a sidewalk directly off the steps. You will need to be cautious of cars for a little ways before reaching the sidewalks of the town. We added a private parking space for guests, but it's a tight fit. If you have a large vehicle, please message us before booking. We only have ONE small parking spot. I prefer to enter from the easiest direction to pull in, but Aaron likes to pull up the driveway then back into the spot. As we’ve noted serval times in this listing, this is a lively place to stay! The train is right in front of our house, and while it adds a certain old-time feel, it becomes less charming at night if you are a light sleeper. We provide an ambient noise maker to help, but please consider this before booking. We are dog friendly (two dogs max), and you will need to add your dog(s) as a guest when you book so that the pet fee is included and we are aware. We will charge the fee after you arrive if you fail to do so. DO NOT allow your dog(s) on the bed. If we discover excess dog hair on the bed after your departure, you will be charged an additional $100 to replace the bedding. Do not book our suite if you have a shedding dog that you can’t keep off the bed. Lastly, our dog doesn’t even notice the train, but yours may, so be mindful of little ears that may become distressed over loud noises.
