Ground floor apartment with large lounge/diner and kitchenette, just outside the walls of the Medieval village of Villefranche de Conflent, with its fine collection of bars, restaurants, craft shops and signposted walks. One hour's drive from the ski resorts, in one direction and the seaside in the other. The railway station is 15-20 minutes level walk and has a mainline to Perpignan as well as the wonderful narrow-gauge Train Jaune, to the ski resorts and beyond. The space This apartment is on the ground floor, within the thick stone walls of the original, medieval part of the house, so it is naturally cool in summer, but there is reverse air conditioning, just in case! We have designed it to be suitable for people with reduced mobility, so the doorways are all wide enough for wheelchairs and it is possible to travel all the way into the village by wheelchair, with a little bit of help up and down a couple of small curbs. There is a raised toilet seat and shower seat, if needed. Service wash available. Guest access Free parking on our quiet little street. 10 minutes level walk to the village where you can access the 1 euro buses. Another 5 minutes walk to railway station, for the 1 euro train to Perpignan and the narrow-gauge Train Jaune to the mountains and the Spanish border. Other things to note You will find breakfast cereals, milk, butter, homemade yoghurts and jam and an espresso machine in your apartment. Daily jug coffee and fresh bread and pastries will be provided on the dresser in the entrance corridor. There is a Blue-ray player and you have the option to use your own Netflix or Amazon account.
