Description

I offer 1 very comfortable attic bedroom, with a very recent 140 cm bed (September 2022) The bathroom with bathtub and toilet is sometimes shared with the second bedroom, on the same landing. It separates the two bedrooms, for privacy. Guests can also use the toilet on the lower landing. From the window you will have a lovely view of the castle. The street is quiet. You will have breakfast (French) on the veranda overlooking the garden. The space The accommodation is shared, as I occupy another room on the same floor, separated from yours by the shared bathroom (bath, toilet). Sometimes this room is rented too, for example during the Christmas market. This "charming blue room" can be rented on request, if you are coming with friends for example. From your window you will see the castle. Breakfast (French) is served on the veranda overlooking the "crazy" garden. You will enjoy the sight of the birds that come to feast on the seeds I give them every day, as well as the jumble of flowers that vary each season. The house is a 17th century Alsatian house, in the heart of the city, on a quiet parallel street. There are 2 floors to climb, the first leading to the kitchen, toilet, veranda and living room (private living room), the second leading to the bedrooms. It is ideal for 1 couple or two friends, who want to hike or discover the region, the pretty villages, and relax in the evening without taking their car, in one of the many restaurants, with terraces in season. And if there are 4 of you, the 2nd bedroom, the pretty blue bedroom, can be opened to you, find out more! NON-SMOKING house. I'm sorry, I can't accept pets (allergies) Guest access The house is in a very good location, close to the center but on a quiet adjacent street. At the end of the street, about 100 meters away, you will enjoy the lively main street. I'll leave you my parking space in front of the house, for your convenience. You will have access to your room and the veranda for breakfast. I reserve the living room for myself. Kaysersberg can be visited on foot and you can take small walks or longer hikes starting from the house: climb the hill to the castle overlooking the city, walk on the vineyard paths, join another village, through the vineyard, or go directly to the forest. There is a bike rental, electric or not, in Kaysersberg, from Easter to All Saints' Day (check the dates before coming and it is best to book). If you're bringing your own bike, I'll leave you a spot inside to park it. During your stay I am quite available and love to give my traveling friends tips, so that they leave with very pleasant memories. But I know how to be discreet if necessary. In any case, I prepare a lot of documentation on the activities of the sector. I really appreciate guests giving me an even approximate arrival time, for my personal organization, and… because I don't run a hotel😁… Other things to note Kaysersberg, a wonderfully flowery and cobbled medieval town, was rightly voted "FAVORITE VILLAGE OF THE FRENCH 2017". You can stroll through the city, pedestrianized in July/August and every weekend, stop at one of the many restaurant terraces but also take very nice hikes on foot or by bike through vineyards and forest. You will find a beautiful swimming pool, tennis, golf 3 km away, the Albert Schweitzer Center… There are also very pretty villages to visit and a renowned museum in Colmar 12 km away, the Unterlinden Museum. In July and August, charming farmers' markets are organized, where you can taste delicious local products, outdoors and sometimes with music. You'll be spoiled for choice for activities! And I can give you some good tips... The famous Christmas markets of Alsace are very popular. The opening of the Kaysersberg Christmas market usually takes place on the last weekend of November. The Kaysersberg market is open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, as well as until around Christmas (inquiring is preferable). But many other shops are open and other Christmas markets are open on weekdays (Colmar, Riquewihr, Eguisheim…), and the city is beautifully decorated all week. To avoid (a little...) the crowds, I suggest you come on weekdays, because you can fully enjoy it, and finish with Kaysersberg on Friday. The 1st weekend, late November, is really nice. I don't take arrivals on Saturdays during the Christmas market, due to traffic jams to get there. But I'm flexible for Friday night check-in times, if I'm notified, of course. Just remember that restaurants no longer serve after 9pm and that it is better to book! During the year these constraints do not apply. Welcome, in any case, after these practical details you will have a magical time!
