Grandma's old house in Fornesighe

Description

Staying here means living in history. This apartment is more than 300 years old. My grandmother Maria lived there. Living in the mountains is not easy. The spaces are different from those we are used to, the ceilings are low, the stairs are narrow and steep. The rooms struggle to warm up. But the charm is unique. WARNING: From September to June, it may be necessary to turn on the stove. Pellet bags are available to be loaded into the stove. The space This is a typical 300-year-old Zoldano apartment. It has low roofs, you will be surprised that you touch the ceiling without even making a jump! Everything is narrow, starting with the stairs to go upstairs. They're made of wood, they know old. The windows are also small, square. The walls, on the other hand, are very thick, made of stone. All the mountain construction, in the past (but even now!), had a very specific purpose: to keep the heat inside and not let the cold in. When you enter this house, remember its history. If you happen to be a little cold, maybe moving upstairs, think about the life that was happening here. THE HEATING >> REMEMBER that the ELECTRICITY you consume IS CHARGED SEPARATELY at the end of your stay. It costs 0.45 cent to kWh. 1. In the living area Today there is a brand new pellet stove to heat the entire lower floor of the house. You'll see, it's very easy to use, and I'll explain how to do it when you arrive. Every day you'll use a lot of pellets, included in your rental. During the day, to optimize the heat, I recommend keeping the kitchen door closed, so the heat will not disperse. 2. In the rooms Upstairs, in the rooms, there are electric heaters instead. I recommend turning them on 30 minutes before going to bed, and always keeping the doors closed so as not to disperse the heat. I recommend using the hot water bags when you go to bed. They'll keep you warm overnight. When you are under the duvet, you no longer need electric heating: turn it off, to save and not damage the environment with unnecessary consumption! 3. In the bathroom There's also an electric heater in the bathroom. Remember to turn it on a little before you need it, and always keep the door closed, so as not to disperse the heat. HOT WATER Hot water is heated in the boiler in the bathroom. When it's over, you have to wait for it to warm up again! Especially if you are not alone in the house, also remember the others...;) and do not consume it all, especially if everyone has to take a shower! Guest access From the apartment you have access to a beautiful balcony, sunny for most of the day. From here you have a breathtaking view of the mountains in front: San Sebastiano on the right, and Mezzodì on the left. Just think: my great-grandmother, who was a seamstress, spent most of her time here during the summer. She would bring out her sewing machine, which was obviously pedal-powered, and work from here. Inspiring, isn't it? Registration Details IT025073C27NQNBCMO
