The Wee Bothy @ East Lothian Cottages

An award-winning, modern and comfortable conversion of a historic farm building, in a beautiful location in the heart of the East Lothian countryside. The space Specifically designed for holidaying guests, The Wee Bothy comes with its own private walled garden, making it ideal for young families and guests with pets. The double bedroom has plenty of storage space, while the bathroom has a shower above the bath. Both have high quality Karndean floors. The kitchen is well equipped, with an electric oven and hob, fridge (with freezer compartment), and a washer/dryer. The hot water and radiators are all electric; thanks to the solar panels on-site, this ensures minimal environmental impact, while also providing easy to operate and highly responsive heating. There is a dryer function on the washing machine, but also an outdoor whirligig, so ideal if you're a cyclist or walker and caught in the rain! In the sitting area, there's a flatscreen TV and DVD player, radio and CD player. There's a private, south-facing patio by the front door with views over the walled garden and fruit trees, and also a fire pit alongside (shared with The Muckle Snug), where you can sit out and watch the stars or cook up a BBQ. The Wee Bothy is fully self-contained, with its own parking, entrance and outdoor space. There's also secure bicycle storage, along with a wash area and workshop. Maps of local routes for walkers and cyclists show the diversity of options right on our doorstep. All utilities, linen and towels are included in the price, and all electricity comes from renewable sources; we work hard with an active environmental policy to ensure that your stay is as light on the planet as possible. Guest access Guests will have exclusive use of the entire cottage as well as the private, self-contained garden and south-facing patio. Other things to note The turn into the walled garden itself can be tight, especially for larger cars. Many guests simply choose to park just beyond the gate instead, against the garden wall.
