Quiraing Rooms: Gorse

A small cosy double room and continental breakfast, set up perfectly for exploring north Skye. We are nearby the spectacular Quiraing, the beach and the Staffin dinosaur footprints; the main town Portree is a 20min drive. We’re happy to share with you about the best things to do and see – you could even book an adventure with our sister company Skye Mountaineering. Please note: the large luxurious bathroom is shared with one other room, and there's no kitchen/microwave. License No. HI-30066-F The space 1 of 2 small cosy adjacent private double rooms within our home, with views across rural Staffin. The room is equipped with its own mini breakfast station – with a kettle, toaster, and fold-away table and stools. (**Please note: there is no access to further kitchen facilities). We offer a modest breakfast to help yourself to in your room. This includes porridge pots, toast, and pastries, as well as tea, coffee and juice (we can cater to dietary requirements if notified in advance). The room has a little walk-in closet with hanging space and drawers. The large newly-renovated bathroom comes with walk-in electric shower and freestanding bath – it is shared if there are guests staying in the other room. The original part of our home dates all the way back to the 1800s – so we ask that you forgive its noisy character and squeaky stairs! Also included: towels for your stay, Wi-Fi, and private parking. Guest access Within our home guests will have access to their private bedroom (with mini breakfast-bar and closet storage), the shared bathroom, and hallways/entrance. You're also welcome to enjoy the garden which runs right around the house. (**Please note: there is no access to further kitchen/dinner making facilities). Access The guest rooms are located upstairs – so unfortunately are unsuitable for wheelchair access. The staircase and hallway are the only spaces shared with your hosts. During your stay We operate a self-check in procedure, because as your hosts we aren't always able to be at the house to greet you. We’ll be easily contactable should you need anything. We recommend guests contact us by messaging through Airbnb. We'll leave our contact telephone numbers in the information folder in the room in case of emergency. It's not unusual that we won't manage to meet guests face to face despite living at the house... we're both very busy working multiple jobs but be assured we've worked hard to create a wonderful stay for you and you can always message with any needs or questions. Please respect that our living spaces within the house are private areas. Motorcyclists are welcome! Other things to note Opening times: Please always check opening times before turning up! Not everything is open all the time, particularly on Sundays or in the winter. Booking in advance: Skye has so many wonderful experiences to enjoy – from boat trips, to distillery tours to coasteering adventures. These (as well as restaurant reservations) are generally worth booking in advance to avoid disappointment. Animals: We have a dog and a cat – we’ll do our best to always keep our animals away from guest areas (although we can’t make 100% guarantees when it comes to herding cats!).
