Taigh 'n Rois is cosy 19th Century refurbished traditional crofting cottage which is full of character. It has an original Box bed- perfect for curling up in front of the wood burning stove. Set below the Trotternish ridge Taigh 'n Rois has panoramic views across Staffin and the Quiraing and is a perfect base to explore the amazing scenery and impressive Jurrasic landscape of north Skye. The kilt rock, Old Man of Storr and the famous dinosaur footprints are all nearby. The space Taigh 'n Rois is a lovely traditional, stone built croft house situated in its own enclosed garden within the small crofting township of Marishader in the stunning Trotternish peninsula. Here you have the opportunity to be immersed in this unique way of life and experience the peace and tranquility which can be found in this beautiful part of Skye. Situated some 2 miles from Staffin and 17 miles north of Portree it is an ideal location to get away from it all. The cottage is centrally heated throughout. Rooms include a bright bedroom with original restored wooden flooring and wooden ceilings, a newly fitted modern bathroom with shower and a bright, cosy kitchen/ living room space with modern fitted kitchen. This also has an original recessed box bed and newly installed wood burning stove. The final room is the scullery which is pretty much like a utility room with lots of storage space washing up area and washing machine. There is a patio area outside the cottage with a wooden bench, picnic bench and patio table set. This is the perfect place to enjoy the stunning views all around. There is a drying area with washing line to the rear of the house. Guest access Guests have access to the whole of the house and the large garden area surrounding it. The countryside and moorland around can be freely access by anyone. Other things to note Wood burning stove - There are instructions on how to light the stove at the cottage and I will leave an initial starter pack of firelighters, kindling and logs.
