Unique custom built new home constructed purposefully for Airbnb quests. This house offers a distinctive design with a large loft bedroom and a fully tiled bathroom. The loft overlooks the downstairs living area which has an open living room, dinning area, and kitchen. The second bedroom and bath are located on the first floor. Granite, slate, and soapstone accentuate the countertops, vanities, and floors. You will also see plenty of natural pine, hickory, and local cedar throughout the house. This is an incredibly comfortable house. While from the outside it appears to leave a small footprint, inside it is spacious, warm and comfortable, and pleasing to the eye wherever you look. Let’s start with the kitchen. In my opinion the kitchen layout is the ultimate in food preparation efficiency. Everything; the stove, refrigerator, and counter prep areas are all within a few steps of each other. The new state-of-the-art glass top convection range with a large oven allows for the preparation of small to very large meals easily. The refrigerator is also new, with ample space to store perishables and frozen food. Overall, there is actually 35 sf of antiqued granite counter space for prep work, and 8 linear feet of a raised bar that can be used for serving in the dining area. The floor in the kitchen area is a beautiful muti-colored natural cleft slate. The dining area seats four people at the dining table, and three at the raised bar. The dining area is also open to the living room which has a beautiful stove that adds both ambiance and warmth to the two rooms. The living room area is extremely cozy, with a couch and chairs that are cushiony and comfortable. There is also a one of a kind soapstone coffee table, and wood floors and area rugs that accent the decor. Just down the hall from the rooms described above are the bedroom and bathroom located on the same floor. The bedroom has a queen sized bed, a small writing table and chair, and a unique chair made from an 1860s wild-west bathtub. The bathroom downstairs has a bathtub/shower that is fully tiled (the floor is also tiled), a free hanging granite vanity top, and a lovely antique bench to add comfort when drying off. Lastly, the upstairs loft offers a spacious bedroom and bathroom. The bedroom has a queen sized bed, a seating area with two chairs and a coffee table, a desk area with a beautiful antique Japanese desk and chair, and built-in bookshelves with a soapstone top. A hand crafted cedar railing (made from local cedar trees) overlooks the downstairs. The upstairs bathroom compliments the bedroom. The bathroom has a fully tiled large shower which offers seating that you will find un-comparable. Also, there is a free standing granite vanity top, an antique bench, and slate floors. I also think it is important to note that all the artwork hanging in the house is original and not copies, there is WIFI throughout the house, and there are TVs in the living room and two bedrooms. The house is heated with zone heating during the winter months. Guests have access to the full 15 acres, and of course all the amenities of the house they are staying in. Located just one mile outside of Rosendale, NY on a 15 acre wooded lot, this home offers access to a private hiking, mountain biking, snowshoeing, and cross country skiing trail 20 feet from your front door. The trail eventually leads you to the Wallkill Valley Rail trail. Other interesting sites and places to visit within a short distance from the property include, but are not limit too, High Falls, Stone Ridge, New Paltz, the Strand in Kingston on the Roundout Creek that leads to the Hudson River, Saugerties, Woodstock, The Gunks (short for Shawangunks), and Belleayre, Hunter and Windham Mountains offering great downhill skiing and other fantastic summer and winter recreational activities. Also, The Mohonk Mountain House is near by with its renowned hiking trails and gardens. You do not have to be a quest to enjoy, as day passes are available.
