Villa Tranquille is a stand alone modern house set on the edge of the peaceful hamlet of Puy de Brette, 12km east of saint Jean d'Angely. Lots of quiet country lanes for walks and cycle rides. Centrally located in this beautiful part of south west France. Large private garden, off road parking and all the facilities needed for a relaxing self catering break. The space Villa Tranquille sleeps 6 in three bedrooms however it is priced for a couple. If you are a family with children please contact us first as we can often offer discounts. If you are after a long let of 1 month or more please contact us as we can also offer a discounted price. Some dates are blocked for short rentals but are available for long lets so contact us before reserving. Vila tranquille has three bedrooms and a spacious open plan sitting and dining area and fully equipped kitchen For winter lets it has individual electric thermostatically controlled heaters in each room . Please note the prices shown are for short lets which include 10€ per night of electricity, above this amount we charge at the rate set by the utility company. Water is included for short lets of 1 or 2 weeks. For long lets (over 2 weeks) a much cheaper monthly price is offered but electricity is charged as extra at the rate set by the utility company It is a comfortable private house on the edge of a quiet rural hamlet - an ideal base for househunting. It has a spacious open plan with living and dining areas and for those who enjoy cooking up local french dishes - it has a very spacious kitchen area with lots of work space and cupboards for storing all those goodies purchased at the market. The kitchen is equipped with 4 ring gas hob, work top electric oven /grill (big enough for a full roast dinner), sink, fridge freezer, microwave, washing machine and dishwasher and all the basic pots, pans, crockery and cutlery. It is light and airy with windows all around. wooden cot, high chair, booster seat, change mat, toys and books, potty and toilet seat , plastic crockery and cutlery, toddler step an hand blender can all be provided on request at no extra charge. Guest access The house stands alone and has off road private parking. Large private garden. Other things to note For lets from September 1st to June 30th we have a policy of charging for extra electricity used over 10€ per day for short lets of up to 2 weeks . We charge the rate set by the electricity supplier and can give you a copy of this. This is really to avoid people leaving the heating on and opening all the windows ! Gas for cooking is included for short lets of a week or two. For long lets of 1 month plus, electricity, gas is not included as a substantial discount is given on the monthly rental price. This is charged at the rate set by the utility company. The gas bottle supplies the gas hob and there is a charge of 50€ to replace it (1 gas bottle should last more than 6 months with normal usage. The gas in the bottle on arrival is free of charge) The TV has netflix, amazon prime and other apps such as molotov to allow viewing of live French and uk tv and international channels such as France 24 which can be viewed in different languages but is not connected to an aerial or cable so does not receive terrestrial channels. The property is remote, there are no shops, bars or restaurants in the village. The nearest services ar 12km away in Saint Jean d'Angely, a car is essential. It is a self catering property. Some basic supplies such as a couple of toilet rolls, some washing up liquid, a few dishwasher tablets, basic cleaning materials and a bin bag are provided on arrival but thereafter you must purchase your own. We do not charge for a cleaning service. We are not a hotel. You are expected to look after and clean the house as you would your own and leave it in a clean and tidy condition on departure. For monthly rentals we charge a refundable security deposit of 600€. For short term rentals (under 2 weeks) we charge 50€ per adult. This should be paid in cash on arrival. A receipt will be given and the deposit refunded on the day of departure as long as the house has been left in a reasonable condition. We are not asking for perfection, just basic cleanliness!
