Rowan Cottage in historic Corstorphine, is a welcoming, cosy 2 bed house with free WiFi and self check in via secure lockbox. 20 min by bus to city centre passing Murrayfield Stadium & the Zoo. 10 min from Edinburgh airport & Ingliston. Lounge, south facing dining conservatory, 1 double bedroom and 1 twin bedroom, kitchen & bathroom. Separate wc. Private gardens front & rear with on street parking. Quiet street with lots of shops, pubs and buses nearby. A wee gem! The space A lovely peaceful area with a village feel less than 10 minutes by bus from Edinburgh Airport and 20 minutes by bus to the city centre passing Edinburgh Zoo and Murrayfield Stadium. Buses are all 3 minutes walk away. The house has gas central heating (except the conservatory which has two heaters for the cooler days and is naturally heated by the sun from roughly March to October!) We provide bed linens, towels, tea towels, toilet rolls, liquid hand soap, tea, coffee, sugar. (Please note no personal toiletries such as soap, shower gel, shampoo, etc are provided). There is full WIFI throughout the house and the TV is provided by Virgin Media where there's also a recordable box. There are a selection of books, DVDs and CDs as well as a couple of little CD players. A TV to watch DVDs on is available in the twin bedroom. The double bed is a standard double with a new mattress and the twin bedroom has two new, full size single beds. The newly refurbished bathroom has a shower over the bath and a towel radiator and there is a very useful separate downstairs toilet! The kitchen has a gas hob, electric oven, washing machine, microwave, fridge/freezer, kettle and toaster. The living room is comfortable, cosy and quiet with a large radiator and a decorative fireplace (please note the fire is purely decorative). Double doors out to the conservatory with a squishy sofa to snooze on and a dining table for 6. Doors go out to the south facing, natural back garden. The garden is mostly wild flowers and gravel to encourage birds and bees but a lovely sun trap to sit and enjoy the day. Large 24 hour Tesco less than 5 minutes walk and a selection of pubs, restaurants, cafes, take-aways and local shops as well as historical places of interest all within a radius of 5-10 minute walk. Bus stops are roughly a 3 minute walk where, as well as the city centre, Murrayfield Stadium, Edinburgh Zoo and Edinburgh Airport, you can also get buses direct to Glasgow, Stirling, Linlithgow to the West and a short bus ride away you can connect with buses for the North (Fife, Perth, Aberdeen, Inverness). Gyle shopping centre is a 20 minute walk away where you can find Marks and Spencer, Boots, Next and other large high street retailers. Guest access Access to the whole house is available, with just a couple of cupboards closed off. Other things to note Due to COVID 19 I will be allowing 48 hours between bookings before cleaning fully and will be following the cleaning regime laid out by Airbnb. In order to minimise risk and in line with many other holiday lets, I kindly ask you to strip the beds and put the linens into the bags provided. There will also be cleaning materials in the house, please wipe over surfaces and put all rubbish into the outside bins. Check out has been extended to allow this. There may be different regulations for England so please check the Scottish Government’s website for up to date advice and regulations. The secure lockbox outside the front door enables self check in.
