Description
Set on our 17 acre holding on the shores of Lochcarron, near the pretty village of Plockton our cottages sit on our private beach which has a coral strand over which you can walk at low tides to get to the Heron sanctuary island. We keep racoons, llamas, donkeys, goats, sheep, hens, ducks, owls etc and have otters on the beach and many birds to watch and photograph. Perfect place to relax. A pine marten often comes to the window in the evenings for treats. Large part sleeps 4 + 2, small part 2. The space This traditional, stone built, herring fisherman's cottage dates back to the 1700s. Whilst preserving its' original features it has been modernised in order to capitalise on its idyllic setting. Set on the shore, pine martens come to the window, otters can be seen swimming in the loch and many different species of birds spotted. Walk over the coral strand to the heronry on the island at low tides. You park at the bottom of the track and walk 60 yds to the beach, crossing the single track railway line and leave the world behind as you relax in this tranquil setting. All you need is the wine and the weather. Guest access A stable door opens in to the small, well equipped kitchen. Off this is a living room/dining area and further on a queen bedroom. Upstairs is the bathroom with shower over the bath, another queen bedroom with cot and off this, a curtained alcove with twin beds most suitable for children. Other things to note We keep animals as an open farm so it is an ideal family venue.
