Description
The space Holidays at the foot of the glacier The Kitzsteinhorn top lift station at 3029 m above sea level is not only the highest point in the province of Salzburg that is easily accessible to everyone, but also a high point for the range of Alpine variety on offer. The Almchalet Gaferlgut makes the perfect base for all year-round glacier pleasure. This homely chalet with its splendid Danish oven and an infrared sauna to warm you up in winter was built in 2006. In summer round off an action-packed day on the glacier with a barbecue and fresh milk straight from the cow. As you approach the chalet, at first sight it may seem a bit nondescript, but the furnishings are modern and very comfortable. The kitchen is spacious and newly equipped with both a ceramic and a gas cooker available to all keen cooks. The bathroom is right up to today's standards and the bedrooms are equipped suitably as holiday rooms. The owners keep their cattle on the fields around the chalet and in the neighbouring barn. In summer, the cows are milked twice a day and our guests are very welcome to try a glass of milk fresh from the cow and have a look at the milking process. The glacier is not the only holiday highlight in the high valley of Kaprun. The high altitude dams are a popular attraction, and the range of outdoor activities on offer is impressive, with hiking and mountain bike routes starting right on your doorstep. The popular village of Kaprun is about 5 km away and is ideal for a wander. Tip: visit the high mountain dams in Kaprun with the huge stand-up cable car lift. Access: Easy access via the federal highway. Registration Details 50602-000147-2020
