Description
12 Idrigill is a traditional Highland croft house which has been fully renovated and extended. It is located on a two acre croft in Uig with a large enclosed garden, with trees, shrubs, lawn and wild flower areas surrounding the house. There is parking for several cars. The front of the house has views across Uig bay, where you can sit and watch the comings and goings of the fishing boats and the ferry to the Outer Isles from Uig pier. The space 12 Idrigill has been fully modernised but still retains the charm of a traditional croft house. The ground floor, with wooden flooring throughout, has a kitchen/dining room leading to a bright living room with full height vaulted ceiling, wood burning stove and large windows looking across the bay. The main bedroom, with king size bed, is situated off of the hallway, next to a tiled shower room with underfloor heating, heated towel rail and electric shaver point (shower size 1000 x 800mm). There is a small porch. The first floor has two further bedrooms one with a double bed and the other with two single beds. There is a bathroom between the two bedrooms with a short length bath (1200mm) and heated towel rail. The kitchen area contains the following items: Electric hob, oven and extractor fan, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, kettle, cafetiere, washing machine, fridge and freezer plus all the usual items you would expect from a modern and functional kitchen such as pans, crockery, cutlery etc (a tumble dryer is located in the stone store at the end of the house). There is also a double USB socket. All three bedrooms contain a dressing table and an open 'industrial style' wardrobe (hangers provided) and a double USB socket. Also provided are: Egyptian cotton towels Hairdryer Liquid hand soap Iron and ironing board Vacuum cleaner Welcome pack containing tea, coffee, sugar, milk, biscuits and breakfast cereal. There is a stone store/shed at the end of the house containing a tumble dryer and two additional kitchen storage cupboards with worktop over. This space may be used to store bikes and other items. There are two large push scooters which you are welcome to use. A rotary washing line is located beside the store. Outside: The lovely large garden has native trees and shrubs with areas left uncut in order to encourage wild flowers and wildlife. There are two lawn areas. A picnic table and wooden curved bench are also provided. There is a compost bin if you wish to use it. Other points to note: Infants - Please bring your own travel cot and high chair. The downstairs bedroom is suitable for one travel cot. The garden incorporates a parking area for several cars. The house has solar thermal tubes on the roof which are used to heat the water on bright days. Room heating is by way of electric panel heaters. Please note that there are three steps down to the entrance of the house from the driveway. Grass cutting and garden maintenance takes place subject to weather conditions. Other things to note The main town on Skye is Portree. Here you will find a selection of shops, pubs and cafes, restaurants, tourist information centre and the main large CO OP supermarket.
