Villa Lofoten - The Steamery

The Steamery is a gem of vernacular architecture, situated in the harbour of the fishing village Kvalnes. Here you can stay exclusively, quiet and have many experiences. The house is located in the middle of Lofoten between the two biggest towns, Leknes and Svolvær. Suitable for two people. Minimum stay: 3 nights. The space The Steamery is a house with many windows, as there used to be many doors. This is where the fishermen cooked processed cod liver oil. They needed a large storage room for the peat they used for fuel. The old storage is now a main room with an entrance hall, dining table, kitchen and a window in the floor where you can follow the movement of the tide. Further in is the bathroom. In the next room, where the cod liver was processed, you will find the old restored chimney and oven. Here you can cook on the old hot plate. There is seating on the bench in the corner, but you can also sleep here. Furthest in is a small bedroom with a double bed (140cm) and a big window. This house is suitable for two people.
